2026 SEIPI NWCs & COPs PLANNING SESSION

Last January 27, 2026, Semiconductor and Electronics Training Council (SETC) had a successful planning session where the newly elected officers outlined the goals and plans for the year.

Members actively participated in the session and held insightful discussion. During one of the sessions, the chairperson and deputy chairperson were elected as follows:

CHAIRPERSON: Erwin Aguilar of AUMOVIO

DEPUTY CHAIRPERSON: Paolo Raval of onsemi

Support is also provided by officers from the SETC TRAINS committees, which handle Training, R&D/Roadmap, Advocacy, Information, Networking, and Services.

The top three (3) priorities were determined by SETC officers and committee members during the breakout session.

In summary, the event ignited enthusiasm and sharpened the council’s strategic direction to drive significant contributions to the country’s semiconductor and electronics sectors.

2025 SETC Training Summit

The Semiconductor and Electronics Training Council (SETC) had its annual Training Summit last September 19, 2025. The event took place at The Palms Country Club, Laguna Heights Drive, Muntinlupa City. It was participated by 82 delegates from 24 companies.

The theme was “The Necessary Competencies of Learning and Development in the Age of Digital Learning and AI”. The summit aims to equip Learning and Development professionals with the critical skills and strategies needed to design, deliver, and manage impactful learning experiences in a digital and AI-driven environment.

Featured Speakers
SETC welcomed the first speaker from YESBIZCORE, Mr. John Gabriel Go Balauag, who discussed “Human-centered Learning in a Tech-Driven World.” He emphasized that technology should enhance—not replace—the human elements of learning, highlighting the importance of empathy, personalization, and inclusivity.

The second session, “Prompt Engineering Mastery,” was presented by Ms. Armi H. Cortes of InnerSun Inc. She explained how to craft effective prompts that maximize the use of AI tools for learning and development.

The final presenter was Ms. Ricangela Sacdalan from Nephila Web Technology, Inc., who focused on the emerging skillsets needed to navigate digital learning and AI in L&D.

The program also featured a benchmarking activity where participating companies shared their current training tools, trends, and automation initiatives.

Overall, the event underscored the importance of developing essential competencies that foster meaningful learning experiences in today’s era of automation and digital learning.

A LOOK BACK AT 2025 SETC Q2 General Membership Meeting

The Semiconductor and Electronics Training Council (SETC) successfully held its 2nd General Membership Meeting last May 9, 2025 at the Philippine Manufacturing Co. of Murata Inc. It was participated by 69 delegates from 26 different semiconductor and electronics companies. With the theme, "Elevate your Impact: Mastering Modern Training Design, Development, and Delivery", participants were able to learn the importance of enhancing training skills to maximize learning effectivity.

HIGHLIGHT OF SETC Q1 2025

Last January 24, 2025, Semiconductor and Electronics Industries in the Philippines, Inc. (SEIPI) hosted its 2025 Networking Committees (NWC) & Communities of Practice (COP) Planning Session at the 8th floor, Ballroom 1&2, Crimson Hotel, Filinvest City, Alabang, Muntinlupa City.

The event brought together representatives from SEIPI’s 8 NWCs and 4 COPs from various sectors critical to the semiconductor and electronics industries.
