The filing deadline for the 2025 Annual Financial Statements (AFS) and related reportorial requirements has been 𝗘𝗫𝗧𝗘𝗡𝗗𝗘𝗗. This follows the issuance of Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 30-2026 by the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR).

🗓️ Revised Deadlines:
• Annual Financial Statements of All Corporations: 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟭𝟱, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲
• SEC Form 52-AR of Brokers & Dealers: 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟱, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲
• Annual Reports (SEC Form 17-A) with AFS as attachment: 𝗠𝗮𝘆 𝟭𝟱, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

All corporations are reminded to ensure that submitted AFS are duly received by the BIR.

Value-Added Tax (VAT) in the Philippines: What You Need to Know

What is VAT?

Value-Added Tax (VAT) is a 12% tax on the sale of goods, services, and properties in the Philippines. It is an indirect tax, meaning businesses collect it from customers and remit it to the government.

Who Needs to Register for VAT?

Businesses must register for VAT if:
✅ Their annual gross sales exceed ₱3 million.
✅ They choose to register voluntarily to claim input VAT credits.

Businesses earning less than ₱3 million are classified as Non-VAT or Percentage Tax filers.

VAT-Exempt Transactions

Some sales and services are VAT-exempt, such as:
🔹 Agricultural and marine food products
🔹 Educational services from accredited institutions
🔹 Medical and dental services (except cosmetic procedures)
🔹 Residential property sales below ₱3,199,200
🔹 Exported goods (subject to 0% VAT)

VAT Filing and Payment Deadlines

VAT-registered businesses must file and pay VAT to the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR):
📅 Monthly VAT (BIR Form 2550M) – Due every 20th of the following month
📅 Quarterly VAT (BIR Form 2550Q) – Due every 25th of the month after each quarter

Late filing leads to penalties, interest, and surcharges.
