PNP TAKES DOWN MA*****NA SITES WORTH ₱33-M IN BENGUET

Hundreds of kilograms of dried ma*****na stalks and leaves with fruiting tops were discovered and destroyed by joint government forces during an intensified anti-illegal drugs operation in the mountainous communal forest of Sitio Bacbacan, Poblacion, Kibungan, Benguet.

Under the leadership of PNP Chief, PGEN Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., the Philippine National Police sustained its aggressive campaign against illegal drugs, leading to the destruction of 275 kilograms of dried ma*****na from four separate sites uncovered between 7:00 PM of February 13 and 4:30 PM of February 14, 2026.

The operation was carried out by the PDEU-PIU-PSOG composite team as the lead unit, in coordination with the Kibungan Municipal Police Station, 2nd Provincial Mobile Force Company of Benguet PPO, and PDEA-CAR, under PDEA Coordination Order No. 16-00-02132026-012 and in line with Benguet PPO’s “OPLAN ULTIMATE GRASS CUTTER.”

Authorities located four ma*****na stockpile sites within the communal forest area. The first site yielded 170 kilograms of dried ma*****na with a Standard Drug Price (SDP) of ₱20,400,000.00. The second site contained 25 kilograms valued at ₱3,000,000.00. The third site produced 50 kilograms with an SDP of ₱6,000,000.00, while the fourth site resulted in the recovery of 30 kilograms worth ₱3,600,000.00. All illegal drugs with a total Standard Drug Price of ₱33,000,000.00 were documented and burned onsite, with representative samples secured and submitted to the Regional Forensic Unit–CAR for qualitative examination.

PNP Chief PGEN Nartatez underscored the firm resolve of the police organization in dismantling ma*****na production areas in the Cordillera region.

“We will relentlessly pursue and destroy every source of illegal drugs that threatens our communities.

He further emphasized accountability and sustained field presence in drug-affected areas.

“Those who profit from illegal drugs will face the full force of the law.

The successful destruction of the ma*****na stockpiles reflects the PNP’s Focused Agenda—its strategic framework for institutional transformation—particularly the key priority of Enhanced Managing Police Operations, reinforcing sustained ground operations and intensified monitoring of highland cultivation areas to suppress the supply chain at its source.

Through strengthened field intelligence and continued forest interdiction efforts in Benguet, the PNP prevents the circulation of millions worth of illegal drugs that could have reached communities nationwide.

As the PNP intensifies its campaign to eradicate ma*****na cultivation sites in remote areas under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., it continues to assure the public of “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong mabilis, tapat, at nararamdaman.”

BACK-TO-BACK PNP GOOD DEEDS: MABILIS NA PAGRESPONDE SA STROKE VICTIM AT SUGATANG MOTORISTA

San Roque, Marikina City.

Cagayan Valley cops delivered firm results on the ground as 160 individuals were arrested in a weeklong law enforcement drive across the region. Under the leadership of Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr., the Philippine National Police intensified its operations through the Simultaneous Anti-Criminality and Law Enforcement Operations (SACLEO) conducted from February 5 to 11, 2026 throughout Cagayan Valley.

Police Regional Office 2 (PRO2) recorded 100 arrests in its campaign against wanted persons, including 10 Top Most Wanted Persons and 90 other fugitives apprehended in separate manhunt operations across the provinces of the region.

Authorities confiscated 56.82 grams of shabu with an estimated value of Php357,055.00 during buy-bust and search warrant operations in identified drug-affected areas. The seized illegal drugs were properly documented and turned over for laboratory examination.

Operations against illegal gambling led to the arrest of 28 individuals in seven separate crackdowns. Strict enforcement of Republic Act 10591 resulted in six arrests and the confiscation of six fi****ms in six police actions. Meanwhile, 31 fi****ms were voluntarily surrendered as part of the continuing drive against loose fi****ms and explosives.

The campaign against environmental crimes also gained ground, with nine individuals arrested in eight operations for violations of Presidential Decree 705. Authorities confiscated 1,955.3 board feet of illegally cut lumber valued at Php190,097.00 during operations in upland areas of the region.

PGEN Nartatez issued a firm warning: “Let this serve as a clear message—crime has consequences. We will hunt you down, we will arrest you, and we will ensure you face the full weight of the law. Hindi kami uurong. Ang lalabag sa batas ay mananagot.”

He added, “There will be no safe space for criminals in any part of this country. Our mandate is clear and our resolve is stronger.

These accomplishments underscore the PNP Focused Agenda—an operational framework of transformation designed to make police service more responsive and accountable. Central to this direction is Enhanced Managing Police Operations, driving intensified manhunt efforts, sustained enforcement of special laws, and stronger field presence in communities affected by criminal activity.

With consistent enforcement actions in Cagayan Valley, authorities continue to assert control over criminal threats and reinforce public safety measures.

As the PNP strengthens its crime reduction drive and sustains aggressive law enforcement efforts under the directive of Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., it continues to assure the public of “Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong mabilis, tapat, at nararamdaman.”

PNP WELCOMES SURRENDER OF 5 BIFF MEMBERS, WEAPONS TURNED OVER

In a major step toward lasting peace and security in Mindanao, five members of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) from two separate factions voluntarily surrendered to authorities on February 13, 2026, turning over high-powered weapons including RPG launchers and a 60mm mortar in Sultan Kudarat, Maguindanao del Norte.

The ceremonial surrender took place at the Municipal Hall in Brgy. Dalumangcob, marking another significant accomplishment aligned with the PNP Focused Agenda, carried out through the Enhanced Managing Police Operations (EMPO) strategy.

According to the report, those who surrendered include one individual listed under the Periodic Status Report (PSR) affiliated with the BIFF-Bungos faction, and four individuals from the BIFF-Karialan faction. All five expressed their intent to abandon armed struggle and return to peaceful civilian life.

During the surrender, the group also turned over several high-powered fi****ms and explosive weapons, including rocket-propelled gr***de launchers and ammunition, an improvised long firearm, and a mortar.

All surrendered fi****ms and ammunition were secured by police personnel and brought to the Sultan Kudarat Municipal Police Station for documentation and proper disposition through concerned units.

PNP Chief Police General Jose Melencio C. Nartatez Jr. welcomed the development, calling it a strong sign that peace-building efforts in conflict-affected communities are gaining ground.

“This surrender is a clear message that more and more individuals are choosing peace over violence.

He emphasized that the PNP remains committed not only to neutralizing threats, but also to supporting pathways for reintegration.

“We will continue to strengthen our security operations, but at the same time, we will support opportunities for those who sincerely want to return to the fold of the law. Kapag handa silang magbago, handa rin tayong tumulong,” he added.
The surrender was facilitated through the combined efforts of PNP units in the area, alongside personnel from specialized and regional support elements who ensured the safe and orderly turnover of the weapons.

PGEN Nartatez also stressed that preventing armed groups from retaining heavy weapons is critical to protecting communities.

This is a win for public safety,” he said.

The Chief PNP PGEN Nartatez assured the public that the organization will continue working with local government units, communities, and partner agencies to sustain peace initiatives and prevent armed recruitment.

The PNP reiterated its call for other members of armed groups to follow the same path, emphasizing that lasting peace can only be achieved when communities are free from fear and violence.

This accomplishment reflects the PNP’s continuing commitment to public safety and national security under the banner of Bagong PNP para sa Bagong Pilipinas: Serbisyong Mabilis, Tapat at Nararamdaman, as it strengthens peace and order efforts through focused, responsive, and community-centered police operations.
