SERVE BY BUILDING A SUCCESSFUL TEAM

There are three things that all leaders need to understand when it comes to building a successful team.

1.) YOU MUST PARTNER WITH THE RIGHT PEOPLE

You cannot succeed in partnerships if they are not rooted in shared values—the moment that you can no longer share values with a partner is the moment that you need to look elsewhere. Values are the foundation for success.

At the root of any partnership success must be one's unwillingness to compromise on personal values; holding values at the center of all of dealings, and picking partners based on those values and the alignment of the partner’s values to own.

2.) YOU MUST BE PATIENT WITH YOUR TEAM

Once you’ve found people who share your values and are committed to those values, you need to settle in. Success takes time, which means you must be patient with your people as a leader. Pour into them, empower them, give them opportunities to stretch and grow—and make sure that you give them an appropriate time frame in which to do it.

3.) YOU MUST BE INTENTIONAL TO SEE THE PAYOFF

This is the most challenging of all. You’ve established values and built upon them. You’ve partnered well with people, and given them upfront expectations, time and tools for success, and now being intentional to see the payoff.

Never rest on today’s good; understand and intentionally practice the belief that tomorrow’s success rests on today’s growth—and so be intentional about growing every day. You and your team need the same level of intentionality if you want to see success.

Hebrews 10:24-25
And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds, not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.

LEADERS TOUCH A HEART BEFORE THEY ASK FOR A HAND

A leader can’t connect with people when he is only communicating among groups; he must connect with individuals. The stronger the relationship and connection between individuals, the more likely the follower will help the leader. Successful leaders always initiate; they take the first step and make the effort to continue building relationships.

Connecting with people isn’t complicated, but it takes effort:

❣️Your people are more willing to take action when you first move them with emotion.

❣️When you give first, your people will give in return.

❣️When you connect with individuals, you gain the attention of crowds.

❣️When you reach out to your people, they will reach back toward you.

Whether you have just taken over a leadership position or are well established, you must connect with your people if you are to succeed.

Value first.
