In late 2018, a chance meeting by childhood friends, Prudencio “Deedee” Teodoro and Rey Anthony David jr. relating to farming and reforestation, produced an opportunity together with their respective children and that of another late common schoolmate’s (Garrick Garcia+) daughter to collaborate on their common interests. From there, the idea of Bamboo Development Solutions Inc. was born.

Alongside Rey and Deedee, the company is composed of Herbert Teodoro, former Technical Manager of Philippine Bamboo Foundation which was founded by his Grandmother, the late Rose Teodoro+, Architect Wilhelmina Garcia of the multi-award winning Junk-Not Eco Creatives, Miguel David, a former Agri-Businessman in Dairy, and all mentored by a well recognized pillar of the industry and among the founding fathers of local Bamboo studies, Dr. Felizardo Virtucio phD.

Following the principles of the Bamboo Plant, which is “Stronger Together”, Bamboo Development Solutions Inc. (BDSI) is a company that was designed for and aims to tackle the following:

To help alleviate the main challenge of Bamboo Industry in the country, which is the supply of reliable planting material for quality poles.

To fully assist clients in the development of well established and managed low to zero mortality plantation projects and landholdings that may need Bamboo for regulatory compliance or ecological management (Erosion Control, Wind Breaks, Biological Barriers, etc.).

To advise and design ways and means for individuals, companies and organizations to revive past and failed ventures in Bamboo.

To provide training and workshop opportunities related to Bamboo, Agro-Forestry/Natural Farming, and Community Development in order to ensure a sustainable and positive impact venture.

To help curate end to end solutions of why to pursue Bamboo and which species are applicable for a final purpose or mid to long term goal.

BDSI has its headquarters in the booming and bustling town of Pansol, Calamba, Laguna, and has working Bamboo operations in Binan, Laguna and Dumaguete, Negros Oriental. The company has just recently completed its first project, a multi-purpose 16,000 plant population in San Mateo, Rizal, which is designed for architectural accents enhancement, ecological support and also a source of raw materials for processing by the proprietor. Currently, the company is in the midst of evaluating and implementing several private projects in Bulacan, Mindoro, Palawan, Cagayan Valley and Cotabato.
