ANSWER:

2. You must never shoot anyone in the leg or arm to maim. It only means you didn’t feel the threat was deadly enough to kill. If so, the prosecution will simply tell the court , that if you were not threatened enough to shoot to kill, why did you use a weapon intended for killing.
