Following the earthquake of April 22, 2019 a thorough evaluation of all building structures and common areas were undertaken in each SMDC development with all inspected buildings being deemed damage-free.

SMDC developments are certified to have followed the stringent requirements of the National Structural Code of the Philippines which adheres to the Uniform Building Code of 1997 which is the global reference in structural stability standards on the design of tall buildings against earthquakes.

SMDC employ Performance Based Design standards in the planning and design of all its communities, overseen by structural engineering company experts such as Sy2 + Associates Inc with Asian Institute of Technology Consulting (AITC) who work closely with our architects and designers to ensure the long term structural integrity and safety of all our developments.
