All Saints’ Day is celebrated on the first and second day of November every year. In the Philippines, this holiday is often referred to as Undas.

lt is sometimes referred to as Araw ng mga Patay, which is a translation of ‘day of the dead’.

All Saints’ Day is an important day in many Catholic countries. As the Philippines is the world’s third largest Catholic country, the country celebrates it with gusto. Traditionally, All Saints’ Day marks a Roman Catholic holiday that celebrates saints who were not awarded their own feast days. It also marks a celebration of the lives of the deceased.

Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) have released the new Skilled Occupations List (SOL) for 2016-2017.
This list will come into effect from 1st July, 2016.

The Skilled Occupations List is used for 189 (Skilled Independent Visa), 489 (Skilled Regional Provisional Visa) and 485 (Graduate Temporary Visa) visa applications.

The DIBP have also released the Consolidated Sponsored Occupations List (CSOL) which is used for 190 (Skilled Nominated Visa), 457 (Temporary Work Skilled Visa) and 186 (Employer Nominated Scheme) visa applications.

Today is a national holiday of Philippines, celebrated to pay homage to the National Heroes of the country.

Every year this day falls on the fourth Monday of August.
Initially National Heroes' day was celebrated on 30th of November as it was the birthday of Andres Bonifacio, founder of the Katipunan.

Later this day moves to the fourth Monday of August, to pay tribute to all other known or unknown men and women who sacrificed their lives for Philippine freedom.

Philippines achieved its identity due to the noble deeds made by numbers of people, known as National Heroes. People of Philippines celebrate this day with a great enthusiasm. This is a perfect day to remember the life and work of all these great people

Todays is Ekka People's Day - The official Royal Queensland Show public holiday, will fall on 10 August in Brisbane.

The Royal Queensland Show, or Ekka as it's most commonly known, is Queensland's largest annual event. Held over ten full days, Ekka showcases life and achievements in the Sunshine State, bringing visitors from all across Queensland and Australia to the heart of Brisbane.

Ekka began in 1876, attracting 17,000 visitors to the grounds and is now Queensland's most celebrated event with an average attendance of 400,000 visitors annually. 2016 marks the 139th show and brings with it a variety of best talent, culture, produce, fun and entertainment.
