DOLE is requiring ALL establishments to organize seminars on Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) after DOLE released guidelines for OSH Compliance last December 6, 2018
One of the prescribed orders is to require the companies to conduct OSH training to all workers.
DOLE advisory that ALL establishments are encouraged to IMMEDIATELY conduct Mandatory Worker's OSH training at NO COST to the workers and attendance at such training shall be considered compensable working time.
The mandatory workers OSH training may be conducted by the SAFETY OFFICER.
The number and qualification of Safety Officers shall be proportionate to the total number of workers and equipment & the size of the work area for each establishments.
Establishments with 1-9 workers:
(1) SO1 for low-med risk establishment
(1) SO2 for med-high risk establishment
Establishments with 10-50 workers:
(1) SO1 for low risk establishment
(1) SO2 for med risk establishment
(1) SO3 for high risk establishment
Establishments with 51-99 workers:
(1) SO2 for low to med risk establishment
(1) SO3 for med to high risk establishment
ALL Safety & Health personnel shall undergo the mandatory training on OSH as prescribed by DOLE.
Said training shall be evidenced by the issuance of certificates by DOLE or DOLE / OSHC accredited STO.
How to become an accredited Safety Officer?
SO1 - completed 1day OSH training + 2 hrs TOT
SO2 - completed 1day OSH training + 2hrs TOT
40-hrs BOSH, 40-hrs COSH
SO3 - completed 1day OSH training + 2hrs TOT
40-hrs BOSH, 40-hrs COSH, 24-hrs TOT
40-hrs LCM, 40-hrs SPA,
