Launched in November 2014, various stakeholders from the public and private sectors committed to address climate change-related issues by pledging support to the program which aims to reverse degradation and improve the economic and environmental status and benefits of the upland, downstream and coastal resources of Silway and Klinan River Watershed to Sarangani Bay Protected Seascape through riv

erbank and mangrove vegetation enhancement & stabilization, agro-biodiversity development and monitoring, livelihood assistance, settlements management and disaster risk reduction. The program covers 53 barangays in the municipalities of Polomolok, Tupi, and Tboli (in the province of South Cotabato), and General Santos City.

Mahintana Foundation, Inc. through the Ridge to Reef Program Joined the Ceremonial Tree Growing activity on June 30, 2022 at Prk. 3 Brgy. Miasong Tupi, South Cotabato.

Mr. Erwin Balogo - Dole ComRel, Anton Cabrera - Matutum big Growers, Dennis Ayon - Matutum Zone operation, Milky Murillo- South Matutum Operation, Jeffrey Maslog - MFI R2R Project Officer, Dole AUV team, Brgy. Council of Miasong, Miasong National High School and Elementary school Planted a total of 1000 hills of fruit and forest trees.

The objectives of this activity is to establish Community based Agrobiodiversity , Community Material Recovery facility and to strengthen the Solid waste management of the Barangay.

The Brgy. Miasong for upscale Solid waste management, Agrobiodiversity and Community based farm management can provide Education and Livelihood to the community.

Tree growing activities are under the program's riverbank and mangrove vegetation enhancement component. Environment, Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Adaptation.

Mahintana Foundation, Inc. joins the celebration of the 2022 Philippine Environment Month through the Ridge to Reef Program by facilitating an institutional activity, Tree Growing on June 14, 2022 at the SEED Farm, Sitio Dam, Brgy. Landan, Polomolok, South Cotabato. This year, the Philippine Environment Month's theme is "Aksyon Para sa Natatanging Mundo".

Ms. Liza Duropan-Hora, Executive Director with program managers and staff of Mahintana planted 220 hills of fruit and forest trees.

According to Proclamation No. 237, June is declared as the Philippine Environment Month to give time and effort towards the protection, enhancement, and development of the country's environment.

Tree growing activities are under the program's riverbank and mangrove vegetation enhancement component. Environment, Disaster Risk Reduction and Climate Change Action assisted the team in preparation and facilitation of the mentioned activity.

Mahintana Foundation, Inc. through the Ridge to Reef Program supported the City Population Management Office of General Santos City in the celebration of the 12th Men's Day at Prk. Minanga, Brgy. Buayan and Prk. Sharif Mucsin, Brgy. Baluan, General Santos City on June 11, 2022.

Barangay councils of Buayan and Baluan, the PNP Station 3, Phil. Army Civil Military Operations, Non Commission Officer Infantry with ROTC Cadete of Golden State College planted 500 hills of mangrove.

Tree growing activities are under the program's riverbank and mangrove vegetation enhancement component. Mr. Jeffrey Paulo Maslog, Project Officer of the Ridge to Reef Program provided assistance during the activity on Saturday.

International Coastal Clean-Up 2021 🌊

September 18, 2021 - Mahintana Foundation Inc. and Dolefil through its Ridge-to-Reef Program celebrate the International Coastal Clean-Up 2021 through the conduct of a Coastal Clean-Up activity with partners from CityENRO Gensan, Rotaract Club General Santos City, SPECTRUM, The Coca-Cola Foundation, Holy Trinity College, Philippine Air Force General Santos City and Prk. Mucsin Brgy. Baluan community members. The activity was spearheaded by the CityENRO under the leadership of Allan Marcilla, EnP.

This year marks the 35th year for the International Coastal Clean-Up that started last 1986. The event is being celebrated annually to engage people around the world to remove trash and debris from beaches, waterways, and other water bodies, to identify the sources of litter, to change behaviors that cause pollution, and to raise awareness on the extent of the marine debris problem.

World Bamboo Day 2021!

September 17, 2021 - Mahintana and Dolefil through its Ridge-to-Reef Program joins the celebration of the World Bamboo Day 2021 by planting 200 seedlings of 4 different species of bamboo (bayog, afus, iron and tiger bamboo) at the established Sustainable Eco-Tourism and Environment-based Innovation Demonstration (SEED) Farm at Brgy. Landan, Polomolok, South Cotabato. This is part of the establishment of the farm's mini-bambusetum. The activity was participated by Mahintana staff headed by Ms. Liza D. Hora, Executive Director together with Brgy. Captain Rebecca J. Diale of BLGU Landan.

This year marks the 12th year of the World Bamboo Day Celebration where Region 12 has also officially organized its Region 12 Bamboo Industry Development Council (R12BIDC) headed by DTI XII, co-chaired by Mahintana Foundation, Inc. with the PLGU Sarangani as the vice-chairperson.

Silway Klinan River Watershed to Sarangani Bay Protected Seascape Ridge to Reef Program is a Dolefil-assisted program which aims to promote sustainable environmental conservation and protection measures towards reducing socio-economic vulnerabilities to disaster, adaptation to climate changes, and developing resilient communities through an active, strong collaboration with its stakeholders.

Dole Philippines, Inc. together with Mahintana Foundation is one with the protection of Sarangani Bay through its Ridge to Reef Program. The Program provides a holistic approach in the protection of Mt. Matutum down to Sarangani Bay. According to Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) that the sightings of these Dolphins in the Sarangani Bay is an implication that it is still a good home for these marine mammals.
