📊 Why Totality Isn’t Enough: The Case for Ongoing Backtesting and Segmentation

In trading, looking at total results is helpful — especially for investors who care about the end-to-end performance. This totality shows the net outcome over a full historical period.

But here's the truth:
👉 Win rates fluctuate.
👉 Market conditions evolve.
👉 What worked last month might underperform this month.

This is why we don't stop at one backtest.
This is also why hedge funds and trading firms rarely stick to a single parameter or strategy forever.

Instead, they:
✅ Segment performance over time
✅ Detect when certain parameters lose edge
✅ Adjust accordingly
