PNP STATEMENT ON CIRCULATING CLAIMS OF A NATIONWIDE GUN BAN DURING THE FIFTH SONA

The Philippine National Police (PNP) clarifies that no nationwide gun ban has been imposed in connection with the Fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA) of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Monday, July 27, 2026.

Information circulating online claiming that a nationwide gun ban will be enforced during the SONA is incorrect.

The PNP has not issued any directive imposing a nationwide gun ban for the event. However, existing laws, local ordinances, and established security protocols remain in effect. As part of the security preparations for the SONA, police personnel will strictly enforce restrictions on the carrying of fi****ms and other deadly weapons in designated security areas and other locations where such restrictions are authorized.

The PNP encourages the public to rely only on information released through its official communication channels and to refrain from sharing unverified posts that may cause confusion.

The Philippine National Police remains committed to ensuring the safe, orderly, and peaceful conduct of the Fifth SONA while respecting the rights of the public.

🛡️ SECURITY GUARD CODE OF ETHICS
1️⃣ Loyalty to Duty
A security guard must faithfully perform duties with dedication and commitment at all times.
2️⃣ Integrity and Honesty
A guard must be truthful, trustworthy, and never engage in corruption or dishonest acts.
3️⃣ Respect for Law and Authority
A guard must uphold the law and respect legal authorities and company policies.
4️⃣ Professional Conduct
A guard must act with discipline, courtesy, and professionalism in all situations.
5️⃣ Confidentiality
A guard must protect sensitive information and never disclose it without proper authority.
6️⃣ Accountability
A guard must take responsibility for actions and decisions made while on duty.
7️⃣ Respect for Human Rights
A guard must treat all persons fairly, with dignity, and without discrimination.
8️⃣ Proper Use of Authority
A guard must not abuse power and must act within the limits of assigned authority.
9️⃣ Vigilance and Alertness
A guard must remain observant, attentive, and ready to respond to any situation.

Ang isang mahusay na Security Guard ay dapat marunong makilala ang iba’t ibang uri ng pagnanakaw upang maagapan at maiwasan ang krimen.

📌 Mga karaniwang uri ng theft na dapat alam ng bawat guwardiya:

🔴 Simple Theft – Simpleng pagnanakaw nang walang dahas

🔴 Qualified Theft – Pagnanakaw ng empleyado o taong pinagkakatiwalaan

🔴 Shoplifting – Pagnanakaw ng items sa mall o tindahan

🔴 Pickpocketing – Palihim na pagkuha ng gamit sa bulsa o bag

🔴 Snatching – Biglaang pag-agaw ng cellphone, bag, o alahas

🔴 Cargo Theft – Pagnanakaw ng delivery o warehouse items

🔴 Identity Theft – Paggamit ng pekeng ID o personal information

🔴 Vehicle Theft – Pagnanakaw ng sasakyan o motorsiklo

🔴 Fraud / Scam – Panloloko gamit ang fake receipts o pekeng bayad

🔴 Information Theft – Pagnanakaw ng confidential files o CCTV data

10 IMPORTANT LAWS EVERY SECURITY GUARD MUST KNOW

Ang pagiging isang mahusay na Security Guard ay hindi lang tungkol sa lakas at tapang — mahalaga rin ang kaalaman sa batas, tamang proseso, at paggalang sa karapatan ng bawat tao.

MAIKLING PALIWANAG NG MGA BATAS:

1️⃣ 𝗥.𝗔. 𝟭𝟭𝟵𝟭𝟳 – Private Security Services Industry Act
➡️ Ito ang pangunahing batas para sa mga security guard at agency. Dito nakasaad ang tamang training, lisensya, disiplina, at tungkulin ng guwardiya.

2️⃣ 𝗥.𝗔. 𝟭𝟬𝟱𝟵𝟭 – Fi****ms Law
➡️ Nagsasaad ng tamang paggamit at pagdadala ng baril. Hindi puwedeng magdala ng armas nang walang permit at duty order.

3️⃣ 𝗥𝗲𝘃𝗶𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗲𝗻𝗮𝗹 𝗖𝗼𝗱𝗲 (RPC)
➡️ Ito ang batas tungkol sa mga krimen tulad ng pagnanakaw, pananakit, at illegal detention. Mahalaga ito para malaman ng guard ang tama at maling gawain.

4️⃣ 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲 𝟭𝟭𝟯 – Citizen’s Arrest
➡️ Pinapayagan ang guwardiya na manghuli kung may krimeng nagaganap sa kanyang harapan o katatapos lang gawin.

5️⃣ 𝗔𝗿𝘁. 𝟭𝟮𝟱 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗣𝗖
➡️ Kapag may nahuling suspek, dapat agad itong dalhin sa pulisya. Bawal ang sobrang pagpigil o pagkulong.

6️⃣ 𝗥.𝗔. 𝟭𝟬𝟭𝟳𝟯 – Data Privacy Act
➡️ Pinoprotektahan nito ang personal na impormasyon. Hindi dapat ikalat ang CCTV footage o records nang walang pahintulot.

7️⃣ 𝗥.𝗔. 𝟵𝟵𝟵𝟰 – Senior Citizens Act
➡️ Dapat bigyan ng respeto, tulong, at prayoridad ang mga senior citizen.

8️⃣ 𝗥.𝗔. 𝟭𝟬𝟳𝟱𝟰 – PWD Rights Act
➡️ Dapat tulungan at igalang ang karapatan ng mga Persons With Disabilities (PWD).

9️⃣ 𝗥.𝗔. 𝟭𝟭𝟯𝟭𝟯 – Safe Spaces Act
➡️ Bawal ang pambabastos at harassment sa publiko. Responsibilidad ng guard na tumulong sa biktima at mag-report ng insidente.

🔟 𝗜𝗯𝗮 𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗮𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗯𝗮𝘁𝗮𝘀
➡️ Kasama rito ang anti-drugs law, anti-violence against women law, anti-wiretapping law, at labor laws.

⚠️ 1. Huwag mag-panic
Manatiling kalmado upang makapag-isip nang tama.

🛡️ 2. Duck, Cover, and Hold Yumuko (Duck)

Magtago sa ilalim ng matibay na mesa (Cover)

Kumapit hanggang tumigil ang pagyanig (Hold)

🚪 3. Lumayo sa Delikadong Bagay
Iwasan ang salamin, cabinet, poste, at mga bagay na maaaring bumagsak.

🏃 4. Huwag Magtakbuhan Panatilihin ang kaayusan habang lumilikas.

🛗 5. Huwag Gumamit ng Elevator Gamitin lamang ang hagdan kapag ligtas nang lumabas.

📢 6. Sundin ang Evacuation Plan
Makinig sa instruction ng security, marshal, o awtoridad.

🩹 7. Tumulong sa May Kailangan
Tulungan ang bata, matanda, buntis, at PWD kung kaya.

🔥 8. Mag-ingat sa Sunog at Gas Leak
I-report agad kung may sirang kable, sunog, o amoy gas.

🏢 9. Huwag Bumalik Agad sa Gusali
Hintayin ang abiso ng awtoridad kung ligtas nang pumasok.

Bilang Security Guard o Safety Officer
Panatilihin ang kaayusan ng evacuation.
Gabayan ang mga tao sa ligtas na lugar.
Siguraduhin na walang maiiwan sa loob.
Makipag-ugnayan sa rescue at emergency responders.
Unahin ang kaligtasan ng buhay bago ang ari-arian.
