1899-S Liberty Head $20 Gold Double Eagle

A stunning example of American gold coinage, featuring brilliant golden luster, sharply defined curls of Lady Liberty’s hair, and beautifully detailed stars. The reverse displays a majestic heraldic eagle with intricately engraved feathers.

Despite a mintage of over 2 million, the 1899-S is exceptionally rare in Gem Uncirculated condition, making beautifully preserved examples highly sought after. Containing 0.9675 troy ounce of pure gold, its estimated gold content alone is worth approximately US$4,063 (₱255,300) as of today's rate.

October 2026 Grading Submissions Now Open

Our October 2026 grading shipment is now in preparation. Submissions for coins, banknotes, comics, stamps, and trading cards will be accepted until October 29, 2026. Items submitted on or before the cut-off date will be included in the October shipment.

Submissions received after October 29 will be processed for the succeeding shipment, allowing us to continue providing seamless service to our clients.

Numistreasures offers secure packing, thorough documentation, and trusted safe-hand delivery to NGC, PMG, ASG, CGC Cards, PCGS, and PSA from the Philippines. For inquiries or to schedule an appointment, please contact us or visit our office.

The Manila Mint played an important role in Philippine history.

Established by royal decree under Spanish rule in 1857 and inaugurated in 1861, the Manila Mint began producing Philippine gold coins that same year, followed by silver coinage in 1864. Reopened under American administration in 1920, it continued striking Philippine coins until operations were interrupted by World War II in 1941.

October On-Site Grading in Hong Kong

NumisTreasures, based in the Philippines, is now accepting submissions for upcoming October on-site grading event in Hong Kong.

Through our authorized submission network under Certified Collectibles Group (CCG), Philippine collectors can submit eligible items for PMG Banknotes, NGC Coins, CGC Cards, and ASG collectibles with a significantly faster turnaround compared with regular international submissions.

Submission Deadline: October 12, 2026
Expected Completion / Return: October 20, 2026
Estimated Turnaround: Approximately 1 week upon completion of on-site processing

Office submissions in Quezon City are strictly by appointment. Clients outside Metro Manila may also coordinate with us for secure nationwide shipment arrangements.

Nearly 200 years on, this 1828 Manila countermarked 8 Reales still tells its story at a glance.

Originally struck in Lima as an 1826 Peru Republic 8 Reales, the coin was later validated in Manila with the bold MANILA 1828 countermark and crowned Spanish arms. Enough of the original Peruvian design remains beneath the countermarks to make the host coin easy to recognize, giving the piece that wonderful layered character collectors look for in early Philippine countermarked coinage.
