Building a charging network and running a viable charging business are two different propositions.

The DOE now lists 422 accredited EV charging providers. But the business models behind that number are not the same. Equipment suppliers and service providers can earn from installation, hardware, and maintenance. Operators depend on drivers actually using their chargers.

That distinction changes how the Philippine EV market should be evaluated. Infrastructure growth is visible. The economics of operating public charging sites are a different question.

The real test is not how many providers enter the market. It is whether charging demand can support the businesses expected to keep the network running.
