The BIR has extended certain tax filing and payment deadlines originally falling from August 10 to 16, 2026 to August 17, 2026 for taxpayers under affected Revenue District Offices (RDOs) and Large Taxpayer divisions due to the effects of the Southwest Monsoon (Habagat).

⚠️ Important: The extension applies only to taxpayers under the RDOs and Large Taxpayer divisions specifically covered by RMC No. 89-2026.

Taxpayers are encouraged to check the official BIR issuance to confirm whether their RDO is included.

⚠️ BIR eBIRForms System Advisory

The BIR eBIRForms system is currently unavailable. This also temporarily affects BIR form filing through MPM Accounting.

For MPM Accounting users with forms already queued for filing, there is no need to resubmit them. The system will continue attempting to file your pending forms and will automatically process them once BIR services become available again.

Please see the official BIR advisory below for details.

Thank you for your patience.

Filing through eBIRForms but didn't receive your Tax Return Receipt Confirmation (TRRC) email?

You're not alone. During busy filing periods, delayed or missing confirmation emails are a common concern for accountants and business owners.

The good news is that BIR Revenue Memorandum Circular No. 20-2026 recognizes that a screenshot of the "Submit Successful" confirmation can serve as proof of filing when the TRRC email is delayed.

💡 Our recommendation: Don't just capture the pop-up—capture the entire screen, including your computer's date and time. It creates a more complete record of when the filing was successfully submitted.

To make this easier, MPM Accounting automatically captures a full-screen submission screenshot and saves it together with the tax return and other filing documents. That way, your filing records stay organized and are easier to retrieve whenever you need them.

We’ve just entered the 2nd half of 2026. How’s your 1st half of 2026 so far?

In accounting & finance, we refer to the first half as “semi-annual” or “mid-year”
It’s no longer the beginning yet it’s not yet the end.

For business owners, self-employed or practicing professional, mid-year is a time to look back on the past 6 months of operations while preparing for the next 6 months.

💸 **The most expensive payroll errors don't happen overnight.**

They begin as shortcuts.

A payroll officer is rushing to meet the payroll deadline and makes a small exception just to get everything finished on time.

The shortcut works.

Nobody complains...

Because everyone got paid **more**.

So the same shortcut is used again next payroll.

Months later, it has become "the way we've always done payroll."

By then, the company has unknowingly spent thousands - or even millions - in unnecessary payroll costs, and changing the process becomes difficult because employees have come to expect it.

This is one of the hidden costs of manual payroll processing that many businesses don't realize until it's too late.
