The Equipment Control Officer is responsible for the management of inventory, inspection, maintenance, uptime, and good condition of all vehicles and equipment and keeping maintenance and repairs costs to a minimum.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Agricultural Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Automotive Technology or related field; equivalent technical experience may be considered.
- PRC Licensed (if applicable)
- Preferably with experience in equipment or fleet management, with strong preventive maintenance background
- With strong knowledge of vehicle and equipment mechanics, maintenance planning, and troubleshooting.
- Proficient in maintenance tracking systems, asset inventory software, and MS Office applications.
- Ability to analyze cost data, fuel consumption patterns, and equipment performance metrics.
- Can work under pressure and minimal supervision
- With valid driver’s license or willingness to obtain one.
- Must be willing to work long hours.

Last Tuesday, we had the privilege of visiting University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB) Chancellor Camacho and newly appointed Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs, Atty. Peralta, to share the fruits of our first six weeks of grounds maintenance and landscape management across selected areas of the UPLB campus – all captured in this short video.

These initial accomplishments may just be the beginning, but they are already meaningful steps towards our shared vision of making UPLB a true showcase of the horticultural and silvicultural practices it teaches – something that fills our licensed professionals, many of whom are proud UPLB graduates, with immense pride.

Our late President, Mr. Joseph Server, often visited Los Baños and always saw UPLB’s great potential. He envisioned it as the Ivy League of South Luzon, with the majestic Mt. Makiling watching over its thriving trees and magnificent lawns. He would have been overjoyed to see these improvements and to witness the community’s appreciation, whether through kind words or the simple act of sharing food with our team.

We know there is still a long road ahead, but with the support of UPLB Office of the Chancellor (OC), Office of the Vice Chancellor for Planning and Development (OVCPD), UPLB Office of the Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs (OVCCA), University Planning and Maintenance Office (UPMO), and the entire community, we remain inspired and excited to keep working – to make this campus bloom into something even more beautiful.
