Join the Art and Science of Paper Conservation Workshop!

Sanfo 101, in collaboration with the QC Tourism Department, welcomes heritage workers, students, artists, collectors, and anyone eager to learn to an intensive, hands‑on introduction to paper conservation. This workshop blends scientific principles with practical, guided exercises to equip participants with the skills needed to assess, handle, clean, and preserve paper‑based materials.

Across 10 structured sessions—conducted as two sessions per day over five days—participants will explore essential conservation methods, work with specialized tools and materials, and build confidence through supervised practice. Whether you are beginning your conservation journey, strengthening your professional capabilities, or deepening your appreciation for cultural heritage, this program offers a solid and accessible foundation.

TIME: 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM
FORMAT: 10 sessions of hands‑on training
FEE: ₱35,000
VENUE: QC MICE Center, Quezon City

INCLUSIONS: Materials, lunch, and afternoon snack

Today, we commemorate the 154th Anniversary of the Martyrdom of GomBurZa - Fathers Mariano Gomes, Jose Burgos, and Jacinto Zamora, the three Filipino priests whose unjust ex*****on ignited the flame of nationalism in the hearts of our people.

On 17 February 1872, they were executed by garrote at Bagumbayan (now Rizal Park Luneta) after being falsely accused of involvement in the Cavite Mutiny. Their sacrifice deeply inspired future heroes, including Dr. Jose Rizal, who dedicated El Filibusterismo to their memory.

We honor their courage, faith, and unwavering stand for truth and justice that helped shape our history.

From April 20–25, 2026, the Philippines will host Heritage Without Borders, a week-long program dedicated to advancing art conservation practices and fostering dialogue between local and international experts.

The event will feature Ms. Kate Seymour, Chair of the International Council of Museums – Conservation Committee (ICOM-CC) and Founder of Art Conservation Education (ACE), Netherlands, as the distinguished guest speaker. Ms. Seymour is widely recognized for her contributions to conservation practice, research, and education, and will share her expertise with participants in both conference and lecture formats.

The program schedule includes:

• April 20, 2026: 1-Day Conference 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM QC MICE Center

• April 21–24, 2026: 5-Day Lecture Series 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, National Library of the Philippines

• April 25, 2026, Closing Session: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM, QCX Event Center

In addition to Ms. Seymour, the week-long event will welcome an esteemed roster of guests and speakers, including Director Cesar Gilbert Q. Adriano, National Library of the Philippines; Director General Jeremy Barns, National Museum of the Philippines; Ms. Gemma Cruz-Araneta, Vice-President of the Museum Foundation of the Philippines, Inc. along with other distinguished voices in heritage and conservation. Together, they will underscore the importance of conservation education, cultural heritage preservation, and collaborative approaches to sustaining practices across borders.

This initiative is presented by Sanfo 101 and Art Conservation Education (ACE), with the support of the National Library of the Philippines, the QC Tourism Department, and CSCA.
