Na-ghost ka na ba ng client? 👻

Nag-send ka ng application, nagkaroon ng magandang usapan, baka umabot pa sa interview…
Tapos biglang wala na. Silence. 😅
Kung nangyari na sa’yo, don’t worry. Halos lahat ata ng freelancers, naranasan nang ma-ghost or ma-reject.

Here’s how to handle it:

1. Follow up once, politely.
After about a week of silence, send a follow-up. Baka busy lang or natabunan ang message mo. Pero kung wala pa ring reply, don't chase.

2. Don't take it personally.
Hindi mo alam kung bakit hindi sila nag-reply. Baka na-hold ang hiring, nagbago ang budget, or may ibang candidate na mas fit. Don't automatically assume na may mali sa'yo.

3. Keep applying.
Hangga't walang signed contract or confirmed start date, tuloy lang sa paghahanap. Don't put all your hopes on one lead.

4. Learn and adjust.
Kung paulit-ulit na walang response, baka panahon na para i-review ang resume, portfolio, proposal, or interview skills mo.

Rejection is part of freelancing. Ghosting too.

Hindi lahat ng opportunity para sa'yo, pero that doesn't mean walang tamang client for you

Follow up. Learn. Move on. Keep going. 🚀

Tumatanggap ka pa ba ng $2/hour? 👀

If you're just starting your freelancing journey, I get it.
Minsan sasabihin natin, “Okay na muna ‘to. Kailangan ko lang magkaroon ng client.” And honestly, there’s nothing wrong with starting somewhere.

Pero here's the question: Hanggang kailan ka mag-i-stay sa rate na pang-beginner?
Starting low can be part of your strategy. Staying low forever shouldn't be.

Here’s how to price yourself more intentionally:

1. Research before you set your rate. 🔎
Don't just copy someone else's rate. Look for at least 3–5 freelancers with similar skills, experience, and services. Check what they offer, who they serve, and how they position themselves.
Hindi porket may naniningil ng $3/hour, iyon na agad ang market rate.

2. Don't compete by being the cheapest.
If you're still building experience and reviews, it's okay to price slightly below the market.
But slightly below is different from sobrang baba na lugi ka na.
Ask yourself: Would I still be willing to do this job at this rate after 3 months?

3. Know what you're actually selling.
You're not just selling hours.
You're selling your skills, reliability, communication, problem-solving, experience, and the results you can help create.
The better you understand the value you bring, the easier it is to explain and eventually raise your rate.

4. Don't wait until you're “super experienced” to increase your rate. 📈
Every few successful projects, client wins, new skills, or additional responsibilities is a reason to reassess your pricing.
You don't need to double your rate overnight.
Even small increases matter.

5. Build proof, then price accordingly.
Collect testimonials. Document your wins. Improve your portfolio. Track the results you've helped your clients achieve.
The more proof you have, the less you need to compete based on price.

And lastly:

Never work for “exposure” alone.
Exposure doesn't pay your bills. Experience is valuable, yes but make sure you're getting something meaningful in return: a portfolio piece, a testimonial, a real skill, or proper compensation.

You can start small.

But please, don't get too comfortable being underpaid.
Your first rate doesn't have to be your forever rate. 🌱
Start where you can. Learn. Build proof. Get better. Then charge accordingly.

Hindi mo kailangan na maging perfect. Kailangan mo lang maging CONSISTENT.

Motivation comes and goes. Discipline stays. The freelancers who make it aren't the most talented, they're the ones who showed up even on the days they didn't feel like it.

One application today. One portfolio piece this week. One skill you're building. That's enough. 💪

If you think clients only look at your resume, think again.

Here are 3 things they check first:
1. Your portfolio (even 2-3 sample projects count)
2. Your response time (fast and clear beats fancy)
3. Your profile photo and bio (look professional, sound human)

Simple pero madalas nakakaligtaan. Fix these three this week and watch your response rate go up..

Hindi mo kailangan ng perfect setup para magsimula.

You can start with:

🧠 The skills you already know
📚 The willingness to learn
⏳ And the courage to try

Every freelancer you look up to once had zero clients, zero testimonials, and an empty portfolio.
The difference?
They started anyway.
So maybe the question isn't “Am I ready?”

Maybe it's:

“What can I do today to get one step closer?”
