Let's do the right thing on Facebook and always!
A lenten reminder for us...

When I was starting as a freelancer,
I used a different name because my real name is too long.

Good thing I was told to do the right thing the moment I decided to offer social media marketing.

Since I started running ad campaigns, I was forced to use my real complete name. Diko nga lang mailagay ang middle name kasi lalong mapapahaba hehe.

Okay, so why am I sharing this today?

Here's the thing....
Read only ff you are serious in doing business using Facebook.

Yesterday, my account was locked for 12 hours buti hindi inabot ng 48 hours.
I needed to upload an ID to prove that it was me using it.
Not only that, I needed to send a video showing exactly the code they sent via email and must be hand written on a piece of paper.

First video was rejected! Bakit?

I needed daw to move my head left to right, up and down haha
naisip ko, pinapa exercise lang ata ako kasi alam nilang stress na ako.

It was tiring and stressful yet, I am also grateful for many reasons.
One of which is I was able to review all my basic lessons like 2FA
( 2 factor authentication ) a much needed set up if you want to make the hackers life a little bit challenging.

But why was my account locked?

After scheduling the ad campaign for my client, I proceeded with engagement activity. So I was switching accounts.

I had a hard time accessing my client's page inbox so I decided to install meta business suite.

All of a sudden, Facebook asked me log in to my account.
I did and I was able to log in and even changed my PW.

Then it was asking for a code that's supposed to be found in a certain google authenticator app.

I didn't find any despite all the YT videos I watched for almost an hour of trying to figure out.

Then the only option I had was to contact meta for help.

Now, I am back as if nothing happened!
As I see it now, I am being notified that they stopped ME when I was trying to log in to my account.

This experience reminded me to do the right thing all the time - hindi lang sa Facebook haha.

If you are reading this, take this as a reminder too:

Use your real name if you are serious in building your freelancing business. If you cannot provide any proof of identification that you are the same person with the one on your profile then better change it now.

However, I'm a bit skeptical about the extended duration of working for free.

After finishing a chatbot strategy sequence set up for an ecommerce business. May mga realizations ako:

1. Dahil na uso na ang AI,
hindi na pwedeng isa lang ang alam mong skill sa panahon ngayon.

2. Dahil sobrang galing ng mga GenZ sa technology,
dapat makisabay ang mga skilled freelancers para di maiwan.

3. Kung premium client ang hanap mo,
dapat premium service na rin ang offer mo.

4. If a prospective client doesn't know what she / he is doing,
It's your responsibility to educate if you decide to help them.

5. As a skilled freelancer, it is a must for you to learn the basic fundamentals of digital marketing.

Let's be inspired by the Gen-Z freelancers.

Today, I am reminded of those moments when I was listening to my students during reporting activities.

I joined a masterclass for Gen-Z freelancers and listened to a third year college student. I was so impressed when she shared her digital products and ala carte services aside from her earnings.

She is a digital marketing genius not only offering social media services to earn.

Curious why I attended the GenZ masterclass?

As a freelancer, a coach, or any business owner, it is a must to do market research.

For you to be able to offer an aligned service,
you must know your target audience to the core.

I joined their community to immerse myself in their world.
I attended to do my market research.

And here are my key takeaways:

The Gen-Z are crushing it when it comes to social media marketing.
It's legit- most of them are business minded.

They are fearless and bold in achieving their business / money goals. They exude confidence at all time.

They are so hungry not just food hungry to learn how they can grow their freelancing business.

My question to you is, are you a skilled freelancer who depends on offering services only?

If you are a skilled freelancer but still feeling hesitant to show up, think again!

If you let fear over power you, you can't market your services to your ideal client.

I bet, one of the reasons why you are stuck in fear is you do not know who your ideal client yet.

It's normal - but you must do something about it.

It's February 1: “Give yourself the chance to change”...

For a long time, I was stuck in my freelancing journey.
I let others and my circumstances took control of my situation.

I couldn't achieve any breakthrough because of fear that crippled me. But I needed to face it believing that I am born for greatness and I wanted faith to win over it.

My coach told me "for things to change I must give myself a chance and do it NOW!”

So here I am posting my first assignment.

It’s time to take control of myself.
It’s time to do the work
It’s time to show up
….because this is what I am meant to do
…my people are waiting for me
…they need my help and no one is going to
rescue them except me.
So how did I gain this confidence? the guts, right? lol

For a long time, I already knew that I needed a mentor for me to break through. Yet, I was not able to do it because I couldn’t afford their courses or services.

I kept going anyway hoping against hope that someday I will be able to find someone with a big heart to help me.

I realized I was wrong!
No one will come to rescue me.
No one is going to show up for me.

But I needed a mentor for sure or a coach to break through, right?

Well, since I couldn’t afford one, I decided to ditch the idea that I needed someone to rescue me.

I started gathering all my achievements, all my experiences then came up with my own strategy.

The good news is it worked!

I became a coach of my own and this experience gave me an instant boost to show up and help other freelancers.

I believe that my time has come to get MAD ( make a difference) and create a legacy and impact.

This is the story of how I transformed from a captive of circumstance to the captain of my destiny, and now, I invite you to take control of your own journey too. It's time to break free and embrace the extraordinary path that awaits.

Are you also dreaming of launching another project to grow your freelancing career but unsure where to start?

Three years ago, I've entertained the idea of starting a coaching business but it remained an idea until 2023.

But before the year ended, I had an extraordinary experience that shifted my mindset and inspired me to pursue my dream.

I needed to decide to commit myself in order to fuel my desire of helping other freelancers attain clarity, correct mindset & freedom.

While browsing Facebook, trying to list down topics for my coaching program, I saw an invitation to join a market research in exchange for a free voucher.

I volunteered to help because I needed to connect with someone who can possibly help me too in the future.

I made the right decision and I am deeply grateful.

Tonight, I had a great time talking with Shweta BeaFlaunta about my life goals for 2024 and almost forgot that I was supposed to have a market research call.

I was able to pour my heart out because I felt like talking with a close friend / coach.
