𝐑𝐄𝐃 𝐀𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐨 𝐚𝐝𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐢𝐬𝐬𝐮𝐞𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐑𝐅𝐅𝐀 𝐜𝐥𝐚𝐢𝐦𝐬, 𝐮𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐬 𝐟𝐚𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧

The Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office 02 (DA RFO 02) Regional Executive Director Dr. Rose Mary Aquino has addressed concerns regarding the claiming of the Rice Farmers Financial Assistance (RFFA), emphasizing the need for accurate registration under the Registry System for Basic Sectors in Agriculture (RSBSA).

During her guesting on Usapang Agrikultura via DZDA on Monday, February 10, 2023, the Director explained that some farmers have raised issues about not receiving their financial aid.

She clarified that eligibility requires RSBSA registration and ownership of two hectares or less of rice area. Farmers who are not yet registered were advised to visit their local government units (LGUs), as the DA has already transferred the registration process to them.

Director Aquino pointed out that discrepancies in registration have caused delays, as some farmers have multiple RSBSA entries under different names or IDs with inconsistent birthdates.

She urged them to provide accurate and legitimate information to avoid complications in claiming their financial assistance.

"Ang gusto lang po namin ay yung legitimacy ng farmer. Hindi po namin pinapahirapan ang mga magsasaka dahil ako mismo ay isang magsasaka rin," she said, emphasizing that cooperation in submitting the required documents is crucial for a smooth claiming process.

She also assured farmers that the first batch of beneficiaries has already received their RFFA and that the DA RFO 02 is fast-tracking the release for the second batch.

Furthermore, she encouraged farmers to join or form farmers' cooperatives and associations (FCAs) to gain access to more government programs and services from the DA.

"Parami na po ng parami ang assistance na ibinibigay ng gobyerno sa ating mga magsasaka at mangingisda. Kaya magtulungan po tayo at tiyagain nating kumpletuhin ang mga kailangang dokumento," Director Aquino added.

The DA RFO 02 remains committed to ensuring that financial aid reaches legitimate beneficiaries and continues to strengthen its support for farmers and fisherfolk in the region.
