Ang social distancing ay isang public health practice na layong pigilan ang pagkalat ng isang nakakahawang sakit sa pamamagitan ng paglimita ng interaksyon ng mga tao.

National Week of Prayer for Healing Against COVID 19
March 2020

The 205,000-strong Philippine National Police and our respective families, join the Filipino nation in faithful observance of the National Week of Prayer in support of Proclamation No. 934, signed by President Rodrigo Roa Duterte last March 21, 2020 declaring the fourth week of March 2020 as a National Week of Prayer.

We humbly invoke God’s promise in 2 Chronicles 7:14. “If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.”

The PNP in support of our Commander-in-Chief urges all Filipinos of all faiths, religious traditions and backgrounds to unite our hearts in prayer as we face the threat of COVID 19!

We urge everyone to join us in praying for all our frontliners, for their safety and health, as well as for their immunity and strength to continue fighting for their countrymen amidst this global health crisis.

We pray that the heroism of our frontline medical practitioners and health workers will not be in vain as we highlight the importance of staying at home and making our homes as our fortress in this world war against COVID 19. We pray that every Filipino will heed the call of the government for them to strictly follow the protocols imposed by it on community quarantine and social distancing.

We also ask our countrymen to include in their prayers the military and law enforcement officers, government officials and personnel, and all Filipinos who sacrifice and risk their lives for duty and country, including the 27,000 Life Coaches and Bless Our Cops volunteers who conduct Squad Weekly Interactive Meetings (SWIM) with our cops spread nationwide.

Together with our beloved families, we submit unto God as One PNP, as One Nation led by our President that our prayers for mercy and forgiveness shall heal our land.

We love the earth, We love our country and we will defend our home!

PNP TO INTENSIFY ENFORCEMENT OF HOME QUARANTINE AND CITY ORDINANCES

The Philippine National Police vowed to intensify and continuously implement law enforcement operations targeting local ordinance violators, especially minors who will be caught violating home quarantine due to Enhanced Community Quarantine to mitigate the spread of Corona Virus (Covid-19).

Seven days after the Enhanced Community Quarantine took effect, the PNP continue to apprehend people violating the strict home quarantine in public areas.

“We pressed charges against the violators. On the case of minors, they were segregated from the adults and were turned over to their parents/guardian. If in cases there were no guardian or parents to fetch them, they will be turned over to local social welfare officer”, PNP Chief, Police General Archie Francisco Gamboa said.

Gamboa also reminded the parents to look after their children particularly minors which are among those who violate the home quarantine.

“To the parents, please see to it that your children, especially minors to stay at home with you. Go out only if necessary for emergencies or health related reasons but only one person is allowed to go outside. Help us to win this fight, cooperation is a must. Save your life, save our frontliners lives. Stay at home. PNP kakampi mo laban sa Covid-19”, Gamboa appealed.

As stated, violators of the enhanced community quarantine may be arrested and charged under Article 151 of the Revised Penal Code and Republic Act 11332 (Mandatory
Reporting of Notifiable Diseases and Health Events of Public Helath concern Act) considering the gravity of the present situation.
