The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) – Romblon, through Negosyo Center San Andres, successfully conducted the “DIGITAL BIZ: Merchant Onboarding (GCash) and Financing Made Easy” Seminar-Workshop (SBCorp) on April 22, 2026, at the Negosyo Center, Poblacion, San Andres, Romblon.

A total of 16 MSMEs from the tourism sector and local business owners participated in the activity, which focused on enhancing digital capabilities and expanding access to financial services.

Ms. Christine M. Juliano, Negosyo Center Business Counselor – San Andres, emphasized the importance of adopting digital transformation and encouraged MSMEs to keep pace with the fast-developing business landscape.

Ms. Evangeline F. Fregon from GCash presented the latest innovations—GCash Sound Pay and Pocket Pay—highlighting their features, convenience, and benefits, particularly in enabling faster and more efficient payment transactions for MSMEs.

Additionally, Mr. Rodel F. Mores, SB Member from the Office of the Vice Mayor, shared a message of support, highlighting the role of digitalization in driving business growth and long-term sustainability.

Participants gained valuable insights on:
✔️GCash Merchant Onboarding and the latest Sound Pay and Pocket Pay features
✔️Access to financing through SB Corp loan programs

The activity was made possible through the partnership with the LGU of San Andres and GCash.

This initiative underscores DTI’s ongoing commitment to empower MSMEs with the tools, knowledge, and opportunities needed to thrive in the digital economy.
