Tri-Energy aims to support ESAMELCO in stabilizing its current low-voltage issues in the Northern areas (Arteche, Oras, Dolores) and Southern areas (Guiuan, Mercedes, Salcedo, and Quinapondan) of its distribution line, while also reducing power costs during peak hours. Together, ESAMELCO and Tri-Energy are working to attract investors from China to develop a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). A series of meetings and negotiations with technology providers and investors took place during the recent visit of the Tri-Energy and ESAMELCO team to China. This technology, already widely adopted in other industrialized countries, has proven effective in stabilizing voltage and improving the quality of power delivered to consumers. According to technical experts from Linyang Energy and ESAMELCO, the system is expected to significantly reduce its system's loss from double-digit to single-digit levels, thereby lowering the cost per kilowatt-hour passed on to consumers and enhancing ESAMELCOβs standing as an electric cooperative.
