DTI Surigao del Norte in partnership with Surigao City LGU through City Tourism Office, Provincial Government of Surigao del Norte through the Provincial Culture and Arts Office, Surigao Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc., and Philippine Coconut Authority Caraga officially opened today the 𝐊𝐀𝐑𝐀𝐃𝐉𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐍 𝐍𝐀𝐍 𝐒𝐔𝐑𝐈𝐆𝐀𝐎 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔: 𝐂𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐥 𝐍𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐞 𝐂𝐨𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐮𝐭 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐮𝐦 𝟐𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐓𝐢𝐥𝐚𝐰 𝐅𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 at the City Gymnasium, Surigao City, bringing together local creativity, entrepreneurship, and culture in one vibrant celebration with the theme, “Industriya nan Lubi: Kabilin ug Kaugmaon nan Usa ka Mamumugnaong Surigaonon”.

The day began with Plein Air Painting for professionals and On-the-Spot Painting for students, showcasing the artistic talent and creative expressions of participants.

The afternoon highlighted the Opening Ceremony, graced by City Mayor, Hon. Pablo Yves lI, President of SCCI, Melva P. Garcia, Surigao del Norte Governor, Hon. Robert Lyndon S. Barbers ably represented by Ms. Jolly Joyce Tibay, OIC of the Provincial Culture and Arts Office, representatives from the LGUs in Surigao del Norte, guests and students.

The celebration continues with the Product Parade and Booth Tour, highlighting the diverse products and enterprises of Surigao del Norte, followed by the Judging of the Painting Competition.

This aim to showcase the importance of the coconut industry, including its various products and the opportunities associated with the coconut sector.

𝐈𝐂𝐘𝐌𝐈 | 𝐃𝐓𝐈 𝐒𝐮𝐫𝐍𝐨𝐫, 𝐒𝐂𝐂𝐈 𝐋𝐚𝐮𝐧𝐜𝐡 𝐒𝐒𝐅 𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐤𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭/𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝐒𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐌𝐒𝐌𝐄𝐬

A new platform for stronger market access and greater opportunities for micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) was formally launched as the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Surigao del Norte, in partnership with the Surigao Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Inc. (SCCI), led the Blessing and Launching of the Shared Service Facilities (SSF) on Marketing Support / Trade Fair System on September 17, 2026, at the City Gymnasium, Surigao City.

With a Total Project Cost of ₱4,050,000.00, the SSF project is designed to provide MSMEs with enhanced support for marketing, product showcasing, and participation in trade fairs—helping create more opportunities for local products to reach wider markets.

The blessing was officiated by Rev. Fr. Carlito “Toto” M. Tiu, DCS, and was immediately followed by the official opening of the Caraga Trade Fair and Exhibit, bringing together MSMEs and products from across the region. A Ceremonial Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) Signing between DTI and SCCI was also conducted, formally signifying the partnership and shared commitment toward the implementation of the SSF project.

The milestone event was graced by the following dignitaries:
(1) Mr. Francis Marc O. Ty, PCCI Eastern Mindanao Regional Governor and Conference Chairperson;
(2) Ms. Melva P. Garcia, President of SCCI and Conference Co-Chairperson;
(3) Hon. Robert Lyndon S. Barbers, Governor of the Province of Surigao del Norte, ably represented by Atty. John T. Cubillan, Board Member, District II and Chair of the Committee on Trade, Commerce, and Industry;
(4) Hon. Eddie Geed Gokiangkee, Jr., Vice-Governor of the Province of Surigao del Norte;
(5) Hon. Pablo Yves L. Dumlao II, City Mayor of Surigao;
(6) Dir. Arnold D. Faelnar, Provincial Director, DTI Surigao del Norte;
(7) Dir. Elmer M. Natad, Provincial Director, DTI Province of Dinagat Islands;
(8) Dir. Marson Jan Dolendo, Provincial Director, DTI Agusan del Sur; and
(9) Mr. Miguel Rene A. Dominguez, President of the General Santos City Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Keynote Speaker, together with other honored guests and speakers.

DTI's Shared Service Facilities (SSF) Program provides machinery, equipment, and tools to qualified cooperators to boost productivity, enhance product quality, and strengthen market competitiveness.
