Every human being has three images: a perceived image of how others see us, a projected image of how we WANT others to see us, and an ACTUAL image, which is who we really are.
Jesus’ perceived image wasn’t favorable to many, especially the notables. He was rejected and labeled as a heretic.
His brothers—skeptics at the time—pressured him to live out of a projected image in order to gain popularity through His miracles (John 7:3-4)
Yet, Jesus’ actual image was quite different. While others rejected Him, God Almighty audibly affirmed, “This is my dearly loved Son, who brings me great joy.” (Matthew 3:17). THIS is the image that endured out of the others.
Which image do you focus on the most? I want to encourage you that the same words God spoke over Jesus are also for YOU: In Christ, you are a SON or DAUGHTER of God, and He finds great joy in you!
