CSAB, LGU Sipalay Hold Scholarship Orientation and Screening for Student Applicants

The Scholarship Orientation, Screening, and Interview for student applicants under the CSAB and Local Government Unit (LGU) scholarship programs was successfully conducted today, May 12, 2026, at the Social Hall, NGC.

The activity gathered applicants together with their parents and guardians for an orientation on the scholarship programs offered by CSAB and the LGU. Prior to the event, applicants had already undergone examinations and an initial interview facilitated by CSAB as part of the screening process.

The event also included document screening and interviews with representatives from CSAB and the LGU as part of the evaluation for scholarship qualification.

Sipalay City Advances GCED Efforts on Day 2

On the second day of the Global Citizenship Education (GCED) Caravan 2026 at Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod, the Sipalay City delegation focused on assessing the Whole School Approach (WSA) and identifying effective strategies for its implementation.

Sessions introduced key assessment tools to evaluate how GCED principles are integrated across school systems. Through interactive workshop activities, participants applied these strategies, allowing them to reflect on current practices and identify areas for improvement.

This continued engagement strengthens Sipalay’s commitment to embedding global citizenship values into education through concrete and measurable actions.

Sipalay City Joins 2026 Global Citizenship Education Caravan

Sipalay City joins Global Citizenship Education (GCED) Caravan 2026 at Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod. GCED is a UNESCO-led initiative designed to empower learners to become active contributors to a more peaceful, inclusive, and sustainable world. By participating, the city aims to integrate these global values of civic responsibility and social justice into its local educational and youth development frameworks.

The city’s delegation was led by Local Youth Development Officer and Executive Programs Action Unit Head Katherine Maguad-Jocame, alongside Scholarships Coordinator Learn Flores. Representing the education sector were Dr. Reynaldo Galicia (EPS-MAPEH), Annamor Eleccion (Learning Resources Management), Sipalay City National High School Principal Joan L. Sayson, and Chrizza Mae P. Vilando of Camindangan National High School.

This collaborative effort between the local government and education officials highlights Sipalay’s commitment to preparing its youth for the complexities of the modern world. Through this engagement, the city ensures that Sipalaynon students are not only academically proficient but are also developed into socially-conscious citizens ready to engage with the global community.

Sipalaynon Students Take First Step Toward College at Colegio San Agustin–Bacolod

A new chapter begins for aspiring college students as Sipalaynon applicants participated in the Entrance Examination and Interview at Colegio San Agustin – Bacolod on April 30, 2026.

The activity marked a significant milestone as students took their first formal step toward their collegiate journey, guided and supported by the City Government of Sipalay.

To ensure accessibility and ease for all participants, the local government provided free round-trip transportation, as well as complimentary lunch and snacks throughout the day.

Further strengthening this collaborative effort, Colegio San Agustin – Bacolod extended additional support by offering free entrance examinations and complimentary coffee for the examinees.

This initiative also serves as the inaugural activity of the Executive Programs Action Unit, which aims to open more educational opportunities for Sipalaynon youth by facilitating their access to partner institutions and scholarship pathways.

The event was graced by Rev. Fr. Jose Rene C. Delariarte, President of Colegio San Agustin – Bacolod, whose presence underscored the institution’s commitment to nurturing future leaders through accessible and quality education.

As these young aspirants move forward, the program stands as a testament to the power of collaboration between local government and academic institutions in shaping brighter futures for the next generation of Sipalaynon scholars

Sipalay City National High School (SCNHS) emerged as the top performer during the 1st Invitational Drum & Bugle Corps Competition held in Hinigaran, Negros Occidental, securing the coveted 1st Place overall against competing schools from across the region.

Demonstrating exceptional discipline, precision, and artistry, the SCNHS Drum & Bugle Corps dominated multiple special categories, further solidifying their championship win. The group was awarded Best in Mother Majorette, recognizing outstanding leadership and command, as well as Best in Street Parade for their dynamic and synchronized outdoor performance.

In addition, SCNHS showcased excellence in creative ex*****on, earning Best in Choreography, and impressed judges with their musical precision and harmony, clinching Best in Musicality.

The competition gathered talented marching bands and drum corps units, each presenting a combination of musicality, choreography, and showmanship. However, Sipalay City National High School stood out for its cohesive performance and commanding stage presence.

The victory marks a significant achievement for the school, highlighting the dedication of its students, trainers, and supporters. It also reflects Sipalay City's growing prominence in the field of performing arts and competitive marching.

13 Female Sipalaynon Scholars Take Initial Interview at Punlaan School

Thirteen young Sipalaynon women took a significant step toward their educational aspirations as they participated in the initial interview phase for the Punlaan School scholarship on April 27, 2026, held at the Sipalay Learning Hub.

The applicants underwent a screening process that marks the beginning of their journey toward potential admission to Punlaan School, a renowned institution that empowers young women through education and skills training. Those who successfully pass this initial stage will advance to the final interview, where they will be further assessed for scholarship eligibility.

The initiative is supported in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Sipalay City through its Sustainable Growth through Education, Employment, Entreprenuership Program, reflecting a shared commitment to expanding access to quality education and opportunities for Sipalaynon youth.

A Wellness and Team Building Activity for Sipalay City BLT Central Kitchen Parent-Volunteers and Learning Support Aides (LSAs) was conducted on April 24, 2026, at Brgy. Cayhagan, facilitated by the City Mayor’s Office – Executive Programs Action Unit.

The activity began with a getting-to-know session, where participants introduced themselves and shared insights into their personal and emotional experiences. This was followed by guided activities aimed at helping participants identify and express their current emotional states.

Interactive games were also conducted to promote teamwork, communication, and active participation among attendees. The program concluded with a shared meal, providing an opportunity for participants to interact and strengthen their sense of community.

Organizers noted that the activity aimed to support the well-being of volunteers and aides while fostering stronger collaboration within the group.
