⛔️ Business Owner's Checklists to avoid BIR Penalties ⛔️
There are three different sources of BIR Penalties:
1. Tax Mapping
BIR personnel conducts field audit. During tax mapping, the BIR personnel will look for these documents and make sure these are kept in your place of business:
✅️ Certificate of Registration BIR 2303 (properly displayed)
✅️ Authority to Print (properly displayed)
✅️ Ask for Receipt (properly displayed)
✅️ Sales invoice or Service Invoice (must issue daily esp if engaged in trading, retail and wholesale business)
✅️ Books of Accounts (make sure it matches with your sales and service invoice.
2. LOA
This happens when there is a discrepancy in the BIR reports you submitted that involves material amount. BIR Conducts 3rd party verification from your supplier and your customer.
3. Open Cases from non-filing and wrong filing of BIR reports
As business owners, you must know what BIR reports you need to file based on your BIR Certificate of Registration.
If your business is temporarily close or not yet operational but already registered in the BIR, make sure to file a zero income.
What are the common BIR reports that needs to be filed?
✅️ Withholding Tax - Expanded (if you are paying for rent) to be filed monthly (0619E) and quarterly (1610EQ) with Quarterly Alphalists of Payees and annually (1604E)
✅️ Withholding Tax - Compensation (if you are paying for salaries and wages) to be filed monthly (1601C) and annually (1604C) with the submission of 2316.
