A Rewarding Catch: SCDJ's Tilapia Harvest 🐟
Today, June 11, 2026, Sorsogon City District Jail proudly celebrates another successful tilapia harvest, yielding 76 kilograms of fresh tilapia, showcasing the fruits of dedication, teamwork, and perseverance. This achievement reflects the commitment of the facility to sustainable livelihood initiatives that promote productivity, responsibility, and rehabilitation among Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs).
Through programs like tilapia farming, SCDJ continues to provide meaningful opportunities that foster personal growth while contributing to food sustainability.

Harvesting Hope: SCDJ Reaps First Mushroom Yield 🍄
The Sorsogon City District Jail proudly marks the beginning of its mushroom livelihood initiative with its first harvest.
Mushroom production is now underway, marking the beginning of a promising livelihood program. It signifies the start of skills development, reflects the initial stage of sustainable production, and underscores the launch of opportunities for growth and self-reliance among Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs), assisted by JO1 Airiks L Lorda – Livelihood Officer.
A product of the 2-Day Training on Mushroom Production and Processing facilitated by the Sorsogon Dairy Production and Technology Center on February 19–20, 2026.
Through this initiative, SCDJ continues its commitment to rehabilitation and empowerment—one harvest at a time.

SCDJ Showcases PDL Livelihood at SSU NTPA General Assembly 🤝

Sorsogon City District Jail proudly participated in the Sorsogon State University Non-Teaching Personnel Association General Assembly today, December 12, 2025, by presenting a range of PDL-crafted livelihood products through a dedicated Trade Fair. Representing the jail were JO1 Ian Jay O Frando, Community Relations Service Officer, and JO1 Marc John B Belen, Livelihood Officer, who highlighted the creativity and craftsmanship of Persons Deprived of Liberty.

Special thanks to Sorsogon State University for continuously opening doors of support and collaboration for our rehabilitation and skills development programs. Your partnership strengthens our mission to empower PDLs through meaningful, productive, and sustainable livelihood opportunities.
