Ink That Will Never Fade: Graduating Campus Journalists Leave Their Mark
✍️ Andrhea Christine L. Belmuro
The newsroom will not be the same.
As graduation approaches, seven of the school’s most dedicated campus journalists prepare to bid farewell—not just to classrooms, but to the publication they helped shape with their words, passion, and purpose.
Andrhea Christine Belmuro, Noriel Wayne Trinidad, Carla Cagara, Jean Mabalo, Anarose Bermudo, Princess Faye Capongcol, and Jasper Batica—seven names that have become synonymous with excellence in campus journalism—are leaving behind a legacy written in ink and impact.
For years, these student writers served as the backbone of the school publication, producing stories that informed, inspired, and amplified the voices of the student body. From breaking news to compelling feature articles, from opinion pieces to creative illustration, their work consistently reflected depth, accuracy, and integrity.
Their journalism journey was marked not only by dedication but also by distinction.
Representing the school in various press conferences, the group brought home multiple awards in categories such as Feature Writing, Column Writing, News Writing, Copyreading and Headline Writing, Editorial Cartooning and Sports Writing. Their victories in district, area and division journalism competitions stood as a testament to their skill, teamwork, and commitment to the craft.
Yet beyond the medals and recognition, their greatest achievement lies in the influence they had within the newsroom.
They were mentors to younger staff members—guiding them through tight deadlines, helping refine articles, and instilling the values of responsible journalism. Their leadership turned the publication into more than just a student organization; it became a training ground for future truth-seekers and storytellers.
“They didn’t just write stories—they built writers,” shared their School Paper Adviser, Ms. Clarissa de Paz.
Each of them brought a unique voice to the publication. Belmuro’s vivid storytelling, Trinidad’s sharp analysis, Cagara’s creative flair, Mabalo’s attention to detail, Bermudo’s discipline, Capongcol’s expressive writing, and Batica’s strong illustration formed a dynamic team that elevated the standards of campus journalism.
Through their collective efforts, the publication grew stronger, more relevant, and more impactful. They covered school events with accuracy, tackled issues with courage, and ensured that every article served a purpose—to inform and to give voice.
Now, as they prepare to step beyond the school gates, their absence will surely be felt. But their influence will remain—in every headline written, every article published, and every young journalist they have inspired.
Their journey proves that journalism is not just about writing—it is about service, truth, and legacy.
As these seven journalists turn the page to a new chapter, one thing is certain:
The stories they told will be remembered.
The standards they set will be followed.
And the legacy they leave behind will continue to shape the newsroom for years to come.
