We honor Andres Bonifacio, the "Father of the Philippine Revolution," on this Bonifacio Day, by remembering his life and contributions.

An impecunious clerk named Bonifacio committed his life to defending his people's independence. He established the Katipunan, a covert organization that was instrumental in the Philippine Revolution against Spanish rule.

In a rebellion against the Spanish in 1896, Bonifacio headed the Katipunan. Though initially successful, the uprising was ultimately put down by the Spanish troops. Despite Bonifacio's death in 1897 at the hands of his fellow rebels, Filipinos are still motivated by his legacy.

On Bonifacio Day, we pay tribute to and remember the sacrifices made by Bonifacio for his nation. Additionally, it is the moment to consider the ideals that Bonifacio upholds, including patriotism, courage, and selflessness.

As we gather around our tables with loved ones on this special day, let us take a moment to reflect on all the blessings in our lives. From our good health and our families and friends to the food on our table and the roof over our heads, we have so much to be grateful for.

Thanksgiving is a time to pause and appreciate all the good things in our lives, big or small. It is also a time to thank the people who make our lives richer and fuller. Thank you to our families and friends for your love, support, and laughter. To our teachers and mentors, thank you for sharing your knowledge and wisdom with us. To our first responders and military members, thank you for keeping us safe. And to all the essential workers who keep our communities running, thank you for your dedication and hard work.

This year, as we celebrate Thanksgiving, let us remember those less fortunate. Let us reach out to our neighbors and communities in need, and offer our help and support. Let us show the world what it means to be truly grateful.

On this Veterans Day, we'd like a moment to honor the brave men and women who have served their country.

From the shores of Normandy to the deserts of Iraq, even to the islands in the Philippines. American veterans have answered the call to duty and fought to protect our freedom. They have sacrificed their time, their health, and even their lives to ensure that we can live in peace and safety.

Today, we take a moment to remember and thank all veterans for their service. We are grateful for their courage, their dedication, and their willingness to put their lives on the line.

We also thank their families for their support. Military service is not just a sacrifice for the veteran, but for their entire family as well. We are grateful for the spouses, children, parents, and siblings who have stood by their side through thick and thin.

All veterans are our heroes. They are the reason we can enjoy the freedoms we have today. On this Veterans Day, let us show them our appreciation and let them know that we will never forget their service.

On Remembrance Day, we honor all the brave men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. We remember their sacrifices and we vow to never forget.
