The spread of COVID19 is still present, with thousands of new cases recorded every day worldwide. We must continue to follow the different health protocols established by our health authorities. One of which is by wearing face mask, especially when we are in public places. It is considered an effective measure to reduce the transmission of the virus if appropriately used.

The World Health Organization (WHO) issued a guide on how to wear a mask as follows:
β€’ Clean your hands before you put your mask on, as well as before and after you take it off, and after you touch it at any time.
β€’ Make sure it covers both your nose, mouth, and chin.
β€’ When you take off a mask, store it in a clean plastic bag, and every day either wash it if it's a fabric mask or dispose of a medical mask in a trash bin.
β€’ Don't use masks with valves.

It's a new year, and it's time to look back and ponder what you want to change, improve, and achieve in your life in 2021.πŸŽ‰πŸŽ†πŸŽŠ

Making a new year's resolution has a positive impact. It enables us to identify what is essential and irrelevant in our life and gives us a clear vision of our goals and how to achieve them.

Let me list down my 10 New Year's Resolutions.πŸ“

1. I will spend less and save more.
2. I will eat more healthy foods and fewer junk foods and soft drinks.
3. I will exercise more.
4. I will focus on my new work as a social media manager and get more clients.
5. I will improve my social media presence in terms of engagements.
6. I will improve my communication skills.
7. I will continue learning new skills.
8. I will be a more confident version of myself with no room for self-doubt.
9. I will spend more bonding time with my family and friends.
10. I will be more optimistic than pessimistic.

I would advise you to make a list and post it in a location where you can see it regularly. Every time you see it, you will be motivated to achieve your goal. Determination is the key.

How about you? What's your New Year's Resolution?

As the new year commences, we will once more start a new chapter in our lives. The new year is often compared to a new book with blank pages. It is us who will fill these pages with our stories throughout the year.

We may begin by asking ourselves. Am I happy with my life at present? What changes do I want to make in my life? What do I want to accomplish in the coming days?

The answers will depend on our motivation and determination. What is clear is that the opportunity is there. To change for the better or for worse. The decision of what stories to write is in our hands.

How about you? What stories do you want to fill the pages of your book? Share your thoughts and comment below.

Exactly a year ago, I was on my way back home for a long-overdue vacation.✈ To be precise, it was four years and six months since the last time I saw my family. That's the most extended period of being away since I worked overseas because of a work replacement issue. My heart❀ was full of delight and excitement.

I was about to return last March 18, 2020, but unexpectedly the pandemic hit us. Governments imposed travel bans, and that's why I could not go back. I was worried that I might lose my job. The lockdown gave me time to think and plan for my next move. A career shift is a top option. I became interested in social media management and equipped myself with essential knowledge by enrolling in online classes. I am now ready for a new challenge as a social media manager.

By November 2020, Saudi Arabia lifted the travel ban. I have to make a decision. Will I return or not? Considering the pandemic, my old-age parents, and my daughter, I decided to stay with my family and focus on my new found career. πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘¦β€πŸ‘¦

Did I make the correct decision?

Adapting to the new normal

The year 2020 ushered us to the so-called new-normal way of life. The pandemic is the culprit of the many changes happening in our society. Many restrictions were put in place to combat the transmission of the virus. We can observe changes in all aspects of life.🚫

1. Wearing a face mask and face shields in public places becomes mandatory.
2. Establishments implement temperature checks, handwashing or sanitizing, and checking identification upon entering the premise.
3. People practice social distancing.
4. Public transport with a limited number of commuters to be served and implementing no face mask and shield no ride policy.🚌✈
5. Schools adapted online and modular learning.πŸ“πŸ’»
6. Work from home became the trend in workplaces.πŸ’»
7. Traveling becomes a hassle.✈🚎 You have to follow different health protocols.

And the list continues.

We have no choice but to adapt to these changes for the common good. Let's hope and prayπŸ™ that we will be able to go back to our everyday lives without restrictions. But in the meantime, let us follow these protocols. There's nothing to lose.

How about you, have you adapted to the new normal? What changes did you observe? Comment below.

The last time I celebrated Christmas at home was way back in 2008. I have been away for 11 years working overseas and had no chance to be with them on Christmas during those years. I still remember my first Christmas away from home. I was in tears while greeting them Merry Christmas. The feeling of loneliness is unbearable.

As many Christmases passed by, I built friendships and a new circle of friends. It helped me in coping up with homesickness, especially during Christmas. But spending the festivity with families is incomparable. It has always been my wish to celebrate it at home.

At last, I celebrated Christmas 2020 with my family. I thanked God for keeping my family and me safe all these years. Merry Christmas. πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘©β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘¦πŸŽ„πŸŽ…πŸŽ

One of the Social Media Manager's duties is to create visual content. One of which is called graphics. It uses color, layout, typography, photos, icons, and other elements to communicate its message. These elements must be cohesive to convey the message effectively. One must have the essential knowledge to be able to create consistent graphics.

The online Graphic Design training πŸ’»I enrolled in gave me an in-depth understanding of the basic principles of Graphic Design. We were taught about Colour HarmonyπŸ”΄πŸŸ πŸŸ‘πŸŸ’, Fonts, Layout, Hierarchy, Composition, and other elements and incorporates them to create cohesive graphics. It was a comprehensive course.β€πŸ‘ I can now use my new skills in graphic design in creating content.

As a requirement for the course, our mentor asked us to prepare an FB ad. Applying the knowledge I learned during the three days (9 hours) of training, I was able to submit my FB ad for a fictitious ornamental plants🌿☘🌷 store.

I received positiveπŸ‘β€ feedback from our mentor, a good to go rating with no revision. Happy to know that I complied with the criteria set for the final output. πŸ˜Šβœ”It only shows that my mentor's teaching method was effective and that I was determined to learn. πŸ’ͺ

Determination makes learning easy.

What do you think of my FB ad? Let me know your comments.
