The coconut sector is amongst the most traditional export in the Philippines, and while this is the case, most coconut farmers are still below the poverty level. This is due to a variety of challenges such as poor crop management, dispersed farms, inefficient aggregation of volumes and environmentally harmful production practices that are only advantageous on the short term. This project aims to unite the farmers and improve their crop yield by providing training and assistance in sustainable farming practices, improvement in logistics and supply chain management, and unifying efforts in yield distribution.

This interesting piece by Henry Ong provides an insight on how the Peso will continue to fall relative to the U.S. dollar in the coming months. Multiple factors such as trade import-export deficits (more imported goods over exported goods, our interest rates being higher than that of the Peso, and the geopolitical, and local instability scaring investors will mean that the peso is projected to go down even further relative to the dollar.

However, this might mean good news for our Virtual Assistants who have US-based or USD pay-based dollar accounts as it means an increase in the purchasing power.

I'm wondering if BPOs would also provide an increase of pay to their employees because of this as their main accounts are US-based.
