Healthy is the New Happy! 🏓

Pickleball Junction, Pasig City — And we’re off! The 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁-𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗿 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝗯𝗮𝗱𝗮 𝗦𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀 𝗖𝘂𝗽 (𝗣𝗔𝗦𝗖) officially kicked off with 𝗣𝗶𝗰𝗸𝗹𝗲𝗯𝗮𝗹𝗹 as its inaugural sport, bringing together over 40 Miravite employees for a day of friendly competition, fun, and camaraderie.

Setting the tone for the event was an opening remark from our CEO, Romeo Abada, who shared the vision behind PASC: to promote 𝗵𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵, 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗺𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗰𝗮𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵 𝘀𝗽𝗼𝗿𝘁𝘀. Most importantly, to give everyone a chance to step away from the desk and get into action.

The friendly matches took place across three pickleball courts, with participants playing in batches and giving it their all. From quick rallies to unexpected shots and plenty of cheers from the second floor, the courts were filled with energy and good-natured competition.

But beyond the scores and the wins, PASC is about bringing the Miravite team together, staying active, and having a little fun along the way.

As Romeo coined, “𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗹𝘁𝗵𝘆 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝘆!”. This is only the beginning. The first PASC has officially set the stage for more sports.

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗠𝗶𝗿𝗮𝘃𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗜𝗙𝗥𝗦𝟭𝟳 𝗦𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀, 𝟭𝟭𝘁𝗵 𝗙𝗼𝗿𝘂𝗺, 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸! Leaders from HMOs and insurance companies gathered at the AIM Conference Center for an engaging exchange of ideas with our Miravite speakers.

The forum talked about the latest Insurance Commission (IC) advisory on PFRS17, emphasized opportunities to simplify the preparation of IFRS17 financial reports for regulatory compliance, and shared a readiness checklist to help HMOs and insurance companies assess their preparedness for IFRS17 implementation.

Last March 19, 2026, our CEO and Senior Consulting Actuary, Romeo Abada was honored in recognition of 35 years of enduring service by the Actuarial Society of the Philippines (ASP).

A Fellow for over three decades, Romeo’s career spans international actuarial leadership across Asia Pacific and a pivotal role in guiding the profession through major regulatory change as ASP President in 2015.

Today, he continues this impact as CEO of the Miravite Consulting Group, bringing a leadership style grounded in passion, a sharp sense of humor, and a strong belief that how you build relationships and show up for clients matters just as much as technical know how.

Outside of work and credentials, Romeo breaks the mold by bringing the same energy to his personal pursuits. From half-marathons and triathlons to Spartan races, now expanding into modern fitness challenges like HYROX, there is no physical feat too new or difficult for Romeo to tackle— a relentlessness that bleeds into every aspect of his life.

We are grateful for his leadership, his energy, and the example he continues to set for the next generation.

The Miravite IFRS17 Series returned on February 19, 2026, gathering HMO industry leaders at MilkyWay Café, Makati City for a forward-looking executive lunch forum. With 2027 fast approaching, the room was energized by meaningful discussions on readiness, system architecture, and practical pathways toward IFRS17 adoption.

From regulatory requirements to optimal system solutions, the forum brought clarity to what structured preparation truly looks like for HMOs. Under the leadership of Miravite’s subject matter experts, the forum reinforced one key message: simplifying IFRS17 is possible with the right integration of actuarial expertise, accounting alignment, and robust data systems.

As the transition timeline advances, Miravite continues to stand alongside HMOs in building the structure, systems, and confidence needed for a seamless IFRS17 journey.

Fresh off the March discussions on the IFRS17 countdown, the Miravite IFRS17 Series returned on July 30, 2025, continuing the industry dialogue. Held in collaboration with PIRA and PLIA,
industry executives from Insurance and HMO companies gathered at MilkyWay Café, Makati City for an Industry Lunch Forum centered on a pivotal question: 𝘩𝘰𝘸 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘐𝘍𝘙𝘚17 𝘳𝘦𝘥𝘦𝘧𝘪𝘯𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘢𝘯𝘺’𝘴 𝘕𝘦𝘵 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘵𝘩?

The session emphasized that understanding Net Worth under IFRS17 is not merely a compliance exercise but a strategic imperative. With clearer financial insights, stronger governance, and well aligned systems, companies can move forward with greater confidence and strengthen trust among regulators, shareholders, and key stakeholders.
