Mike&Marlo Ecobags and Souvenirs Shop started out as a small exclusively just an ecobag manufacturing company in 2012. It first occupied a small humble place in the living room with just two (2) highspeed sewing machines. Small ecobag contracts started to pour-in including the contract of Tagaytay's Inter-Asia Development Bank (IADB) which opened more business opportunities for Mike&Marlo. This co
ntract helped beef-up the business being able to add more equipment and supplies. Soon, Mike&Marlo transfered to a new location in Barangay Palingon (a location situated about 1.5 kilometers from where the business started) with more machines and sewers. In a span of less than 18 months, the business was able to hire the services of more than 25 personnel including both sewers and printers. Other sewers who have highspeed sewing machines in their houses work from home. Since then, Mike&Marlo has been catering to bigger contracts including the 500,000 pcs Shakey's Party Capes (Superman, Batman, and Wonderwoman), Bayview Park Hotel Ecobags, Bayleaf Plaza, Royal Dansk, Clark International Airport, Bon-Chon, Bureau of Local Government Finance of Albay, Association of Filipino Franchisers, Inc. (AFFI), Sunnies by Charlie, National Nutrition Council, Department of Health, Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), MMDA, and others. Over the years, the business started to develop new designs of bags including the use of other raw materials to further enhance its product lines. Currently, Mike&Marlo is now among the leading suppliers of not only ecobags but the supplier of choice for canvas and kacha made bags. The new line of canvas and kacha bags highlights a new breed of reusable, very durable bags in the industry as Mike&Marlo is the only manufacturer which supplies them with inclusive inner lining and specialized handles - available at the best price in the entire Philippine Market. Mike&Marlo's recent breakthrough is the awarding of the Congress' State-of-the-Nation (SONA) Canvas Bags Contract.
