Every new hire brings more than a salary to manage. There’s recruitment, onboarding, payroll, HR support, equipment and somewhere to work. As your team grows, so does the work around each person.

Offshore staffing with MicroSourcing lets you add skilled team members in the Philippines while keeping control of who you hire and how their work gets done. You choose your people, set their priorities and manage their daily work. We handle recruitment support, local HR and payroll, IT and facilities.

Your offshore team can work in your systems, follow your processes and report to your managers, with local support behind them. So when planning your next hire, ask two questions: “Who do we need?” and “Who will support them?”

When your team logs off, the work doesn’t always stop. Customer requests arrive overnight, records need updating and tasks sit in a queue until someone is back online. An offshore team can help keep that work moving while your onshore team is offline, extending operational coverage around the hours your business needs.

With MicroSourcing, you choose the roles and set the workflows, priorities and working hours. Explore the roles and teams you could hire: https://hubs.la/Q04zJhWT0

Think about what your team spends its first hour catching up on, that’s a useful place to start.

Why are so many organizations gravitating toward hybrid delivery models? You get to take the best-fit elements of different outsourcing models and combine them into a hybrid approach that actually makes sense for your business.

But how do you make sure those multiple models function, efficiently, as one?

It comes down to how you execute. Below, we've broken down five principles that can help keep hybrid delivery connected and cohesive.

In our full report created with SSON and SSON Research & Analytics, we go into greater detail on what it takes to make hybrid outsourcing work in practice.

When comparing the Philippines vs. India for outsourcing, the better destination depends on what you’re outsourcing, not simply which country costs less.

The Philippines is often the stronger fit for customer-facing and operational roles, including customer service, finance and accounting, healthcare administration and back-office support. India remains particularly strong for large-scale technical work, especially enterprise software engineering, data science and other STEM-intensive functions where the depth of the talent pool matters.

So the real outsourcing location question isn’t: Philippines or India?. It’s which destination best matches the roles, skills, communication requirements and operating model you need?

Our latest comparison looks at the two destinations across English proficiency, cultural alignment, function-specific talent, data security, infrastructure and time zone compatibility: https://hubs.la/Q04zffQM0

Starting a Global Capability Center is not simply a choice between control and external support. It is a decision about where each should sit, and how that balance may need to change as the center matures. That makes “Which GCC model should we choose?” the wrong first question.

Start with three others:
- Which capabilities do we need to own long term?
- How much startup risk can we absorb today?
- Where could external expertise accelerate ex*****on?

Almost half of companies currently using onshore or outsourced models plan to move to a dedicated global delivery center within the next year. But the right entry path will depend on their answers, not on a default model.

In the video, ISG Distinguished Analyst Stanton Jones explains the spectrum from captive and build-operate-transfer models to hybrid GCCs, and the trade-offs behind each. For a deeper look at choosing, building and scaling the right GCC model, download our Global Capability Center Playbook: https://hubs.la/Q04xX3d60

The best outsourcing model on paper can still be the wrong one in practice. Why? Because choosing between traditional outsourcing, managed services, staff augmentation and hybrid delivery is also choosing who owns the processes and tools, day-to-day decisions and governance and improvements.

If those responsibilities do not match your organization’s internal capabilities, even the “right” model will create friction. This is becoming more important as delivery environments grow more complex.

SSON Research & Analytics found that 57% of organizations now operate blended model, but only 27% rate their GBS maturity as advanced or expert.

More flexibility does not automatically mean better ex*****on. Without clear ownership, it can mean more handoffs, dependencies and delayed decisions. The comparison below shows where control sits across today’s main outsourcing models.

Outsourcing problems are often blamed on the delivery model or provider. But complexity rarely creates the underlying weakness: it exposes it. When ownership is unclear, processes live in people’s heads or internal and external teams operate through separate systems, even the right outsourcing model will struggle to perform at scale.

This matters as delivery becomes more interconnected. SSON Research & Analytics found that only one-quarter of organizations consider their GBS maturity advanced or expert, suggesting many businesses are adopting more sophisticated models before the capabilities supporting them are fully developed.

The practical lesson? Assess ex*****on readiness with the same rigor as model selection. A new contract cannot compensate for unclear decision rights, inconsistent workflows or limited visibility across teams.

Developed with SSON and SSON Research & Analytics, our new playbook explores how to build the operating foundations that allow outsourcing to adapt and scale without fragmenting.

For years, outsourcing has largely been judged by one question: "How much money did we save?" But this question alone is no longer the most important one. Today, leadership teams are under pressure to improve cycle times, increase service quality, reduce rework, strengthen customer experience and deliver more with constrained resources.

Against that backdrop, measuring outsourcing purely through cost savings misses the bigger picture. The more important questions are:

- Did it improve performance?
- Can Finance close the books faster?
- Can Customer Service resolve issues more effectively?
- Can HR hire and onboard talent sooner?

When outsourcing is aligned to the outcomes that matter most, it becomes a lever for improving enterprise performance. That's the conversation explored in our latest guide, developed in partnership with SSON and SSON Research & Analytics.

If outsourcing is still being measured by yesterday's metrics, it may be time to rethink the question.
