Since its inception 35 years ago, Amigo Entertainment Technologies, Inc. has always been
recognized as a leader in the audio, lighting, LED and special effects industries with its
state-of-the-art products to major establishments in the Philippines and abroad. The Company was originally established under the name “The First Audio Resources &
Management Corporation” on February 14, 1979. Its pri
ncipal start-up business was the
installation of BGM/paging systems in selected government, military and private
institutions. Then, First Audio in 1980 pioneered the phenomenal shift of market interest
to discotheques as the major force in the entertainment industry through music
programming and high technology. During this period of growth in the discotheque industry, First Audio bought Semco
Electronics of England in 1984 to manufacture its own audio and lighting equipment under
the brand name Anzia. was created as
an affiliate company for this purpose. In 1992, First Audio entered into the live music field with its own music lounge, Club Amigo,
at the Cebu Plaza Hotel as its first wholly-owned establishment. With this, it changed its
name in the same year to Amigo Club Entertainment, Inc., reflecting the company’s
expanding concept towards total entertainment from its initial focus on discotheque
operations. With the advent of the new millennium, Amigo saw the rapid growth of the mall industry
and, as such, entered this market by developing a new concept in BGM/paging application –
providing high-fidelity FGM (foreground music) /paging systems, supplemented by
preventive maintenance and music management to supplement its installations. Spearheading its new venture in 2001 was the Cinderella group of companies, and
more importantly in 2003, the giant SM group of companies, which eventually led the
Company into its multi-million core business. Amigo then became the major official supplier of audio, special lighting and effects for the
SM group. Henceforth, the SM core business of Amigo had multiplied ten-fold in a matter of
three (3) years, as it was likewise awarded the technical preventive maintenance and music
management contracts for all SM mails, department stores and affiliates nationwide. With its continued business growth, Amigo in 2009 started to provide LED applications for
industrial lighting, street/parking lighting, signages and gas price display boxes, beginning
with the Petron group of companies. This further expanded into several LED lighting
applications for government clients, like the Department of Tourism, the Metro Manila
Development Authority and the PAGCOR casino group. This was followed by architectural lighting projects with the Crown Regency group, the
Century Properties group, and the architectural firm of William V. Coscolluela & Associates. In 2012, Amigo supplied the main scoreboard and ground LED ribbon display for the Mall of
Asia Arena, after signing an exclusive distributorship agreement with Daktronics, Inc. Amigo changed its name in 2012 to Amigo Entertainment Technologies, Inc. to reflect its
continued expansion and diversification of business. Its most recent significant major clients
include the Lopez Group of Companies, including the First Philippine Realty Corporation, the
Adtel Group of Companies and the San Miguel Corporation.
