We asked Joy: What do you think makes a good leader? Has this view changed over the course of your career?
For Joy, leadership today is as much about the people you bring with you as it is about where you’re going:
“Over the course of my career, I’ve come to see leadership as both a privilege and a responsibility. It’s not just about what you accomplish or how far you go, but about bringing people along on the journey.
Good leaders create clarity around where we’re going, recognize the unique strengths each person brings to the table, and give people the opportunity to make an impact. It’s about lifting others up, opening doors and creating an environment where people can bring their best.
The further I’ve gone in my career, the more I’ve realized that our greatest impact is rarely something we create alone. It comes from the people we invest in, build with and grow alongside. When everyone brings their unique strengths to the table and stays focused on a shared vision, that’s when we can create something truly special together.”
