According to the report from the World Cooperative Monitor in 2023 the following are the top 10 largest cooperatives in the world ranked based on turnover in USD, on the podium there are two financial and one retail enterprise. The first two positions belong to the French Groupe Crédit Agricole (117.01 Billion USD turnover in 2021) and the German co-op REWE Group (82.03 Billion USD turnover in 2021). Rising to third place is the Groupe BPCE (64.06 Billion USD turnover in 2021). Most of the Top 300 enterprises are from the most industrialized countries such as the USA (73 enterprises), France (40 enterprises), Germany (31 enterprises) and Japan (21 enterprises).

A 𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗮𝗻𝘆 is a corporation engaged in granting loans from its own capital funds or from funds sourced from not more than 19 persons. It shall not be deemed to include banking institutions, investment houses, savings and loan associations, financing companies, pawnshops, insurance companies, cooperatives, and other credit institutions already regulated by law.

Sa ilalim ng Republic Act No. 9474, ang isang lending company ay dapat rehistrado bilang isang korporasyon sa Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Maliban dito, kailangan din munang kumuha ng Certificate of Authority to Operate as Lending Company ang korporasyon bago ito payagang magpautang sa publiko. Kapag magpapautang online, kailangan ding ipalista ng lending company sa SEC ang lahat ng kanyang online lending platforms o online lending apps.

The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) provides the following rules on the cross-border transfer of local and foreign currencies:

1. A person may freely bring into or out of the Philippines, or electronically transfer, legal tender Philippine currency up to PHP50,000 only. Amounts in excess of the PHP50,000 limit shall require: (a) prior written authorization from the BSP; and (b) in case of physical cross-border transfer of Philippine currency, declaration of the whole amount brought into or out of the Philippines using the prescribed Currencies Declaration Form (CDF).

However, the BSP allows cross-border transfer of PHP in excess of the limit for the following purposes only: (i) testing/calibration/configuration of money counting/sorting machines; (ii) numismatics (collection of currency); and (iii) currency awareness.

2. A person may freely bring into or out of the Philippines foreign currency and other foreign currency-denominated bearer monetary instruments in amounts up to USD10,000 or its equivalent in other foreign currencies. For amounts exceeding the USD10,000 threshold, the whole amount brought into or taken out of the Philippines is required to be declared using the CDF.
