LIFE REALIZATIONS☺️
Nung estudyante pa lang ako, what I always hear from people are these:
"Dapat hindi ka lang book smart, dapat street smart ka din."
"Kabisado mo nga yung buong libro, kulang ka naman sa practical application."
"Mas yayaman pa yung mga hindi honor students kasi madiskarte sila."
"Honor ka nga sa school, wala ka namang social life."
And to tell you honestly, they are partially right. 💯
"Partially" lang kasi ikaw pa rin naman talaga bahala if you'd listen to it and if you'll use it to your advantage.
HINDI ENOUGH NA MATALINO KA LANG SA SCHOOL. DAPAT TALAGA MADISKARTE KA SA BUHAY.
Yes, magandang may mataas kang grades.
Dean's lister ka. Scholar ka.
Opportunities talaga yung lalapit sayo when you performed well in school.
BUT
✅ SKILLS are more important.
What's the value you can offer? Or nagmemorize ka lang at nag aral ka lang for the sake of getting "high grades" and "recognition"
Trust me, sa una mo lang magagamit yung grades and pagiging cm laude mo.
But in the long run? It will be your skills that will bring you to greater heights and amazing opportunities.
"HI, I'm (name). I graduated as Cum Laude"
But instead, people will look into the RESULTS you produced.
And the more results you show, the more value you give, the more that you build your credibility.
So instead of trying to memorize everything in the book (unless needed by your course)
Develop your skills or your talents and find a way on how you can create a side hustle so you can make it profitable.
Kung multipotentialate ka, align every skills you have and find a balance in between.
(Unless again if you're aiming to be a skilled professional like doctors, lawyers etc)
Labas ka rin sa comfort zone mo. Kumilala ka ng maraming tao.
Join organizations. Discover people outside your course and your university.
So invest your time and energy in quality people (including romantic relationship) piliin mong mabuti.
Your future self will thank you that you've made connections with quality people.
LEARN FINANCIAL LITERACY
Taboo topic sa Pinas ang pera. Hindi nga tinuturo masyado sa school.
So kung hindi ka mahilig magbasa.
It's time for you to read financial books and increase your financial literacy.
Study Business,stocks, investments, insurance, etc.
Marami kang makikilala na kahit sobrang taas na ng posisyon at sahod nila and they've been working for almost 20 years, they still don't know saan napupunta ang pera nila.
They live to work. And work to live.
Living a paycheck to paycheck lifestyle (okay ibang kaso to kapag breadwinner ka)
And kung ikaw ang inaasahan ng family mo, the more that you should learn how money can work for you (leverage)
Nakaakaexcite bumili ng mga material things to reward yourself, oo. Deserve mo yan.
Pero trust me, iba ang feeling when you're able to reward both your present and your future self.
Again, diskarte.
If we all have 24hrs a day. 8hrs for work. How will you dedicate the remaining hours in things that will generate more income for you?
Or how can you turn your passion into profit?
What are your plans and goals? Not just in career but also with your finances? Why? Because money is a tool to reach your dreams.
It pays to know these things in advance.
Kung estudyante ka, good for you, you can benefit from this.
Kung katulad ko ikaw na graduate na and in mid 20s, it's not too late to know these things and get started.
Kaya mo yan. Enjoy your life. Minsan ka lang din estudyante.
But make sure to make the most out of it.
And learn from other people's mistakes.
