International Day of Forests 2026

Nakikiisa ang DENR National Capital Region sa pagdiriwang ng International Day of Forests ngayong Marso 21, na may temang “Forests and Economies.”

Bagama’t urbanisado ang Metro Manila, mahalaga pa rin ang papel ng ating mga forest at green spaces, tulad ng La Mesa Watershed Reservation, sa pagsuporta sa lokal na ekonomiya at kabuhayan. Ang mga kagubatan ay hindi lamang pinagmumulan ng malinis na hangin at tubig, kundi nagbibigay rin ng oportunidad sa ecotourism, urban greening jobs, at climate resilience initiatives.

Ang pangangalaga sa ating mga kagubatan ay direktang nakaaapekto sa ating ekonomiya, mula sa proteksyon laban sa pagbaha, hanggang sa pagpapanatili ng suplay ng tubig at pagpapalago ng mga sustainable na hanapbuhay. Sa NCR, ang bawat puno at luntiang espasyo ay may ambag sa mas matatag at mas maunlad na lungsod.

Sa temang ito, binibigyang-diin na ang responsableng pangangalaga at pamamahala ng kagubatan ay susi hindi lamang sa kalikasan, kundi pati na rin sa patuloy na pag-unlad ng ating ekonomiya.

Sama-sama nating pangalagaan ang ating mga kagubatan, para sa kalikasan, kabuhayan, at kinabukasan.
