In line with security preparations for the 2026 ASEAN Meetings, the Philippine National Police (PNP) announces the temporary suspension of Permit to Carry Fi****ms Outside of Residence (PTCFOR) within Iloilo City from 12:01 AM of February 20, 2026, to 11:59 PM of March 1, 2026.

This ten (10)-day suspension aims to ensure public safety and maintain peace and order during this significant international event.

Only members of the PNP, AFP, and other Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) performing official duties and wearing agency-prescribed uniforms are authorized to carry fi****ms during this period.

We seek the public’s understanding and cooperation as we work together to make ASEAN 2026 safe and secure.

Iloilo – A 26-year-old barangay official tagged as a High-Value Individual (HVI) was arrested in a buy-bust operation that led to the seizure of more than PhP2 million worth of suspected illegal drugs at around 12:02 PM on February 20, 2026, in Brgy. Ardemil, Sara, Iloilo.

The operation was carried out by operatives of the Sara Municipal Police Station (MPS), in coordination with the 2nd Iloilo Provincial Mobile Force Company (IPMFC), following more than five months of intelligence monitoring and tip from the community on the suspect’s alleged illegal drug activities.

Arrested was alias “Rexon,” 26, single, SK chairman and a resident of Sara, Iloilo.

Seized from the suspect were twenty one (22) medium-sized sachets of suspected shabu weighing approximately 300 grams valued at PhP2,040,000 and 10 grams of suspected ma*****na worth PhP1,000.00 , buy-bust money, and other non-drug items.

Regional Director, PBGEN JOSEFINO D LIGAN, lauded the operating units for their coordinated efforts and reiterated PRO6’s firm stance against illegal drugs.

“This operation clearly shows that we will pursue all individuals involved in the illegal drug trade, regardless of status or position in the community. We call on our elected youth leaders and public servants to be examples of integrity and accountability. PRO6 remains relentless in its campaign to rid our communities of illegal drugs and to protect the future of our youth,” PBGEN LIGAN said.

Charges for violation of Sections 5 (Sale of Dangerous Drugs) and 11 (Possession of Dangerous Drugs) of Republic Act 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 will be filed against the suspect. These offenses carry the penalty of life imprisonment and fines ranging from PhP500,000.00 to PhP10,000,000.00.
