BERDMAN VARGAS – BIOGRAPHY
DJ Berdman Vargas, known on-air as “The Professor of the Groove,” is a seasoned radio personality, corporate veteran, and academic mentor whose voice has become part of the soundtrack of Western Visayas. Born on December 24 in Bacolod City, Berdman’s love for music and communication took root early, eventually leading him into the vibrant world of radio and broadcasting.
After before conquering the airwaves, Berdman built a strong foundation in the corporate world. He held key roles in major companies such as Aboitiz Shipping, where he learned the value of logistics and service. At Apple Computers, he embraced innovation and global thinking. He later joined La Tondeña Distillery, immersing himself in brand marketing sales, distribution and product culture. With Servier Med Asia, he contributed to the dynamic pharmaceutical sector, selling specialist medicine and at RFM Corporation, he deepened his experience in consumer goods and industry operations. These experiences equipped him with a diverse, strategic perspective that he brings into every field he touches. He eventually landed a job in Sales & Marketing at Matsush*ta Electric Philippines Corporation the makers of National and Panasonic brands of Home Electronics. This has further enhance his career in the fields of business and has extensively travelled the archipelago. He spend 9 years with MEPCO.
Simultaneously, DJ Berdman became a trusted radio personality, known for his soulful playlists, smooth voice, and genuine connection with listeners. His shows blend nostalgic classics with contemporary hits, delivering emotion, energy, and elegance on air.
Today, he is also a professor at the University of the Philippines in the Visayas, where he mentors future communicators with passion and credibility. Married to Beth Fuentes Vargas, he balances family, music, and education with grace.
