| Strengthening Agrarian Enterprise Development through VLFED Project in San Juan
San Juan, Abra – On June 15, 2026, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Abra Provincial Office, led by Acting Provincial Director Marvin T. Arcangel, joined the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in the Memorandum of Agreement Signing Ceremony for the Village Level Farm-focused Enterprise Development (VLFED) Project in San Juan, Abra. The project was launched for the Ba-ug Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative (MPC), marking another milestone in advancing agrarian reform beneficiaries toward sustainable enterprise development.
The VLFED Project is a key initiative under the DTI-DAR-DOST Synchronization Plan, which promotes integrated rural industrialization through inter-agency collaboration. DAR provides infrastructure and organizational support for Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries (ARBs), while DTI and DOST contribute business development, product standardization, and technology assistance to enhance productivity and competitiveness.
During the ceremony, Mr. Arcangel emphasized the importance of equipping the Ba-ug Farmers MPC with entrepreneurial skills and market linkages to transform agricultural yield into high-value commercial products. The partnership aims to strengthen farmers’ capacity to manage enterprises effectively and expand their access to broader markets.
Through this collaboration, government agencies reaffirm their shared commitment to empowering local farmers, promoting innovation, and building resilient rural communities. The formalized agreement serves as a foundation for sustainable agrarian enterprise growth and inclusive economic development in Abra. DTI Abra
