𝗞𝗠𝗠𝗘 𝗕𝗔𝗧𝗖𝗛 𝟭𝟰 𝗖𝗢𝗡𝗧𝗜𝗡𝗨𝗘𝗦 𝗠𝗦𝗠𝗘 𝗦𝗞𝗜𝗟𝗟𝗦 𝗗𝗘𝗩𝗘𝗟𝗢𝗣𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗧𝗛𝗥𝗢𝗨𝗚𝗛 𝗞𝗘𝗬 𝗕𝗨𝗦𝗜𝗡𝗘𝗦𝗦 𝗠𝗔𝗡𝗔𝗚𝗘𝗠𝗘𝗡𝗧 𝗠𝗢𝗗𝗨𝗟𝗘𝗦

The 2026 Kapatid Mentor ME Program (KMME-MME) Online Batch 14 sustained its learning series with Modules 6 to 8, further equipping 47 participating Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with practical competencies in supply chain management, financial management, and human resource development to support stronger and more sustainable business operations.

Module 6, held on 05 May 2026, centered on Supply and Value Chain Management and was facilitated by Ms. Mary Grace Marzan, Founder and Chief Operations Officer of Ilearn International Institute. The session focused on how MSMEs can effectively manage the flow of goods, services, and information across the supply chain, with emphasis on sourcing, inventory control, logistics, distribution, and identifying value-adding activities that improve efficiency and customer satisfaction.

This was followed by Module 7 on Entrepreneurial Accounting and Financial Management, conducted on 07 May 2026 by Mr. Wilfredo Gagarin, Co-founder and Incorporator of HG Business Consulting, Inc. Discussions centered on core financial management practices such as bookkeeping, preparation and analysis of financial statements, cash flow monitoring, budgeting, pricing strategies, and financial planning, along with the importance of compliance and sound financial decision-making for business sustainability.

Meanwhile, Module 8 on Human Resource Management was conducted on 12 May 2026 by Mr. Enrique Pablo Caeg, President of RAP Training Services and Founder of Retail Academy Philippines. The module highlighted key HR practices including recruitment and selection, employee engagement, performance management, compensation and benefits, labor relations, leadership development, and adherence to labor standards, underscoring the role of people management in organizational growth.

As the program progresses, participating MSMEs are expected to translate the knowledge gained from the modules into improved operational systems and business practices, as they continue their KMME learning journey toward strengthening and scaling their enterprises. # #

A total of 47 Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) under the 2026 Kapatid Mentor ME Program (KMME-MME) Online Batch 14 joined learning sessions focused on improving their business operations and use of digital tools.

On April 28, Module 4 on “Operations Management” was facilitated by Mr. Virgilio Ajero, Founder and COO of VHGrowth Consulting Inc. The session helped participants better understand how to manage their daily operations, including production, inventory, logistics, and quality control. It also shared practical ways to reduce costs, improve productivity, and organize workflows more efficiently.

On April 30, Module 5 on “Digitalization” was delivered by Mr. Eckhon Malig, Founder of Trading Post and Customer Service Advocate. The discussion focused on how MSMEs can use digital tools to support their business, such as creating an online presence, using e-commerce platforms, applying digital marketing, and adopting digital payments and basic automation.

These sessions highlighted the importance of having organized operations and using the right digital tools in running a business. With these, MSMEs can improve their day-to-day processes and reach more customers as they continue their KMME journey. # #

The Department of Trade and Industry Region 2 (DTI R2) conducted key learning sessions under the 2026 Kapatid Mentor ME Program (KMME-MME) Online Batch 13, equipping 49 participating Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with essential knowledge on product development and business ethics.

On 22 and 23 April 2026, Modules 9A and 9B, titled “Market-Driven Innovations I: Product Development,” were delivered by Mr. Paul Henry Abad, freelance artist and designer. The sessions focused on developing market-driven products aligned with customer needs and trends, covering customer analysis, basic market research, product conceptualization, prototyping, and refinement, as well as strategies on value proposition, differentiation, pricing, packaging, and positioning.

Meanwhile, on 27 April 2026, Module 10 on “Good Governance and Ethics” was facilitated by Atty. Jimmy Balmediano, Public Attorney II. The module emphasized accountability, transparency, fairness, and compliance, highlighting the role of ethical decision-making in building trust and supporting sustainable business operations, while reinforcing the importance of integrity-driven leadership and internal controls.

Through these sessions, participating MSMEs are expected to enhance their product offerings while strengthening ethical and responsible business practices as they continue their KMME journey. # #

The price freeze for basic necessities in the Province of Cagayan was implemented on April 20, 2026, in accordance with the declaration of a State of Calamity (SOC) in the province as per Sanggunian Panlalawigan (SP) Resolution No. 2026-12-452.

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) informs all consumers and retailers that Section 6 of Republic Act (R.A.) No. 7581, commonly known as the Price Act of the Philippines, as amended by R.A. No. 10623, mandates automatic price control for basic necessities. This means that the prices of these necessities will be frozen at their current levels for a period of sixty (60) days, unless the President lifts the freeze sooner.

Laying the groundwork for sustained business growth, the Department of Trade and Industry Region 2 (DTI R2) rolled out Modules 1–3 of the Kapatid Mentor ME (KMME) Program for Batch 14 MSMEs on 14 April, 16 April, and 21 and 23 April 2026 via Zoom, engaging 47 participants. The sessions mark the start of a series of mentorship activities aimed at strengthening the entrepreneurial, marketing, and strategic capabilities of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

For Module 1, “Entrepreneurial Mind-Setting and Values Formation,” the session focused on developing the entrepreneurial mindset and values essential for business success. Jenny Lynn Mendoza, Service Operations Head of E-LOCANDIA Electronics, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Services, highlighted key traits such as initiative, resilience, opportunity-seeking, and sound decision-making. The discussion also underscored the importance of integrity, discipline, accountability, and goal-setting as foundations for long-term enterprise growth.

Meanwhile, for Module 2, “Marketing Mindset,” the discussion centered on building a strong marketing perspective among MSMEs. Beaux Flamiano, Founder and Creative Director of Beaux Flamiano Design, guided participants in understanding customer needs, identifying target markets, and crafting value propositions. The session also explored the 7Ps of Marketing—Product, Price, Place, Promotion, People, Process, and Physical Evidence—along with digital marketing, branding, and customer engagement strategies to help MSMEs remain competitive and responsive to market demands.

Also, for Module 3, “Business Model Canvas,” MSMEs were introduced to a strategic tool for analyzing and improving enterprise models. Candy Mauricio, Human Resource & Organizational Development Executive, walked participants through the nine building blocks of the canvas, emphasizing how each component contributes to value creation, delivery, and sustainability. The session highlighted the importance of aligning business strategies with customer needs and identifying opportunities for innovation and efficiency.

With Modules 1–3 underway, Batch 14 continues its learning journey under the KMME Program alongside the ongoing rollout of Batch 13, further advancing MSME development through mentorship, innovation, and capacity-building initiatives. # #

Strengthening financial management and human resource capabilities, the Department of Trade and Industry Region 2 (DTI R2) conducted the seventh and eighth modules of the Kapatid Mentor ME (KMME) Program for Batch 13 MSMEs on 13 April and 15 April 2026, respectively, via Zoom, engaging 49 participants. The sessions form part of DTI R2’s continuing efforts to develop more resilient, competitive, and well-managed Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs).

The seventh module, “Entrepreneurial Accounting and Financial Management,” focused on equipping MSMEs with essential knowledge and practical tools to effectively manage their business finances. Kevin Philip Gayao, Founder and CEO of IOL Inc., led the session, covering key areas such as bookkeeping, preparation and interpretation of financial statements, and cash flow management. Participants were also guided on financial analysis, cost and pricing strategies, budgeting, and tax compliance, emphasizing sound financial decision-making to ensure profitability and sustainability.

Meanwhile, the eighth module, “Human Resource Management,” highlighted the importance of effectively managing people as a key driver of business success. Patricio Ballecer, Managing Director of PAB Training and Development Services, discussed core human resource functions, including recruitment and selection, employee engagement, performance management, compensation and benefits, and labor relations. The session also underscored leadership development, organizational culture, and compliance with labor laws to help MSMEs build a productive and motivated workforce.

Following these modules, Batch 13 MSMEs will continue with the remaining sessions under the Kapatid Mentor ME (KMME) Program, further strengthening their competencies across key business areas toward sustained growth and competitiveness. # #
