MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT
We are looking for a diligent, competent, reliable, trustworthy and experienced Management Accountant for a large Transport and Warehousing company based in Australia. This role will work closely with team members in other areas of accounting and review their work and sometimes fill in when on leave. You will be working with payables, receivables and payroll, encompassing all accounting processes and will be reporting to the financial controller.
The role will also assist the financial controller in reporting and would sometimes stand in her position when on holidays or on leave. It is essential that, over a period of time and with proper training, the candidate can confidently run things smoothly and keep an eye on all matters, i,e, dealing with customers and suppliers needs at a higher level including sometimes dealing with the company owners.
To be considered for this role, the candidate needs to possess most of the following attributes and would have been exposed or experienced in the duties outlined below:
Qualifications:
At least 3 years’ experience as an Management Accountant/Senior Accountant
Experience in or ability to adapt into the Logistics Industry and Supply Chain
Proven experience in Xero Accounting software (https://www.xero.com/au/)
Proficient in reporting and data analysis - Excel/Google Sheets (vlookup, pivots, etc)
Strong relationship building skills
Strong communication skills both verbal & written
A self-starter and team player
Excellent attention to detail, strong accounting skills
Willingness to learn as much as possible and take on tasks as they are requested
A degree in Accounting (CPA preferred but not essential)
Logical, have a questioning mind, good with following procedures, but be broad minded in being across all aspects of the accounts.
Tech savvy and knows how to use technology and cloud applications to make processes more efficient
Dedicated, focused, trustworthy and reliable
Lives in Valenzuela or nearby towns (we prefer locals)
Responsibilities and Duties:
Answering the accounts phone calls (via Dial Pad )
Working closely with the state operation teams, as well as AR, AP and Payroll
Checking creditor invoices and supporting documents for accuracy
Ensure correct cost dissections, job allocation and data entry of invoices
Performing monthly creditor's reconciliation against statements and resolve discrepancies
Collating and processing regular payments – EFT payments
Allocate payments and receipts (daily reconciliation)
Issuance and maintenance of credit cards
Processing of credit card transactions
Address ad hoc debtor queries
Assist with debtor applications (Apply Easy)
Assist with weekly sales invoicing
We use Carton Cloud and Xero https://www.cartoncloud.com/
Support with month end processes (reporting)
Payroll processing for 85+ (split fortnights, therefore not all at once - however need to be a backup to Payroll team member, and role includes following up with Managers to get the information needed to process payroll, including ensuring that employee info is correctly captured)
Timesheet analysis to calculate overtime pay (big year end job, but also on an ad hoc basis to calculate time in lieu). (Deputy for our Timesheet System)
Leave management
Maintenance of employee payroll records
Responding pay related queries
Payroll tax reporting
Intercompany reconciliation and reporting
Assisting in maintaining and improving financial systems, processes, and procedures
Chase debtors (again, email/phone call mix)
Ad hoc reports
