What an incredible privilege to share the stage with hundreds of passionate Data Protection Officers (DPOs), compliance leaders, IT professionals, HR practitioners, legal experts, and privacy advocates during the DPO 2.0: AI-Ready Privacy & Governance Summit held on June 30, 2026 at the Bayanihan Convention Center, Pasig City.

The venue was filled to capacity, a clear indication that organizations across the Philippines are taking Data Privacy, AI Governance, and Regulatory Compliance more seriously than ever before.

I had the honor of delivering two keynote sessions:

Session 1: The New Data Privacy Landscape 2026: NPC Updates, Global Regulatory Shifts (GDPR & AI Laws), and Organizational Readiness

Session 5: Advanced Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) Workshop

Together, we explored today's rapidly evolving privacy landscape, from the latest regulatory developments and emerging AI governance requirements to practical strategies for building privacy-resilient organizations. The interactive Privacy Impact Assessment (PIA) workshop also challenged participants to think beyond compliance and embrace privacy-by-design as a strategic business advantage.

The overwhelming participation, insightful discussions, and enthusiasm from our DPO community reaffirm one important truth: Data Privacy is no longer just a legal requirement—it is a cornerstone of trust, responsible AI, good governance, and organizational excellence.
