DGKhan Cement Company (DGKCC) was established under the management control of State Cement Corporation of Pakistan Limited (SCCP) in 1978 as private company. Current prevailing economic conditions in the country are badly affected by poor governance and terrorist attacks. The industrial activities are suffering due to severe gas outage and power load shedding which is a bad omen for

business and investment climate in the country. Increased inflation rates in every sector have set an alarming situation in the country which is likely to further aggravate due to dangling political posture. Going forward, the rising cost of fuels like, furnace oil, diesel and coal in international markets is another serious threat to the economy of the country. Pakistan is passing through the worst phase and need of the hour is to take few stiff and long term decisions for the revival and stability of the economy on strong footings. Political stability, consistency of policies, and tight and stringent monetary controls could change the destiny of our country. Going forward immediate steps should be taken to overcome the energy crisis in the country. Country badly needs a few big water reservoirs to overcome water scarcity for agriculture and cheap power generation for smooth and efficient running of industrial activities. In addition large scale housing projects should be launched which will have many fold effects on the business activities in the country. All these steps will bring the economy back on track and our country could be a preferred place for investors both foreigners and local.
