𝐀𝐧𝐧𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐧 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐬𝐞 & 𝐉𝐨𝐛 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

The Placement Office-ORIC, University of Wah (UW), in collaboration with the Faculties of Engineering, Computer Science, Basic Sciences and Management Sciences, organized the Annual Open House & Job Fair 2026 on 19 May 2026. The event provided a vibrant platform for strengthening academia-industry collaboration by promoting student innovation, professional networking, and employment opportunities.

The event featured more than 90 Final Year Projects (FYPs) presented by graduating students from the Faculties of Computer Science and Engineering. The projects highlighted innovative solutions in smart technologies, sustainable design, process optimization, automation, and digital transformation. The project exhibition attracted the attention of industry experts, academic professionals, and recruiters, who appreciated the students’ technical competence, creativity, and problem-solving abilities.

In addition to the project exhibition, students from all faculties, including Basic Sciences, Management Sciences, Social Sciences, Engineering, and Computer Science, actively participated in the Job Fair. More than 64 renowned organizations representing technology, manufacturing, consultancy, banking, education, and engineering sectors participated in the event. Prominent participating organizations included Wah Industries Limited, Startup Coworks, Wah Nobel (Pvt.) Limited, FNRCO Group, LINRCO Consultancy, Elegsoft, Gearoom, Thrive Marketing, Phitech Solutions, and Global Study Linkers (GSL). Representatives from these organizations interacted with students through recruitment drives, networking sessions, career guidance activities, and on-the-spot interviews, providing valuable information about emerging market trends and career opportunities.

Mr. Malik Sherafghan, Additional Secretary General, the Hattar Industrial Association, and CEO of Standard Ceramic Industries (Private) Limited, attended the ceremony as the Chief Guest. During his visit to the project exhibition, he greatly appreciated the innovative ideas and technical expertise demonstrated by the students. He commended the efforts of the University of Wah in promoting strong industry-academia linkages. He emphasized the importance of further enhancing collaborative partnerships to support industrial growth and workforce development in the country.

The event was also graced by distinguished Guests of Honor, including Prof. Dr. Muhammad Junaid Mughal (T.I.), Director, Campus, COMSATS University Islamabad, Wah Campus; Dr. Attique Raza, CEO, Positive Solutions; and Mr. Haji Muhammad Hussain, Chairman, Master Group of Industries.

In his welcome address, Prof. Dr. Jameel-Un Nabi, Vice Chancellor, University of Wah, warmly welcomed the distinguished guests, industry representatives, and participants. He acknowledged the valuable role of industry collaboration in preparing graduates for the evolving professional landscape and appreciated the dedication of students, faculty members, and the ORIC team for making the event a remarkable success. He further endorsed the university’s vision to foster innovation, research excellence, and practical learning opportunities that contribute to the professional growth and future success of students.

The event concluded with a shield and certificate distribution ceremony to recognize the contributions of participating organizations, sponsors, and outstanding student projects. Prof. Dr. Amjad Hassan, Director, Office of Research, Innovation, and Commercialization (ORIC)-UW, delivered the vote of thanks and reiterated the university’s commitment to promoting experiential learning, strengthening industry engagement, and creating future opportunities for collaborative ventures and professional development.

حطار انڈسٹریز کے چیئرمین ملک محمد عاشق اعوان صاحب نے کہا ہے کہ پاکستان کی موجودہ معاشی صورتحال پہلے ہی انتہائی پیچیدہ اور مشکل مرحلے سے گزر رہی ہے۔ ایسے حالات میں اسٹیٹ بینک کی جانب سے شرح سود میں مزید 1 فیصد اضافہ کر کے اسے 11.5 فیصد کرنا کاروباری طبقے اور صنعتوں کے لیے مزید تشویش کا باعث ہے۔

ملک کی انڈسٹریز پہلے ہی بقاء کی جنگ لڑ رہی ہیں، پیداوار نہ ہونے کے برابر رہ گئی ہے، فیکٹریاں مشکلات کا شکار ہیں اور روزگار کے مواقع کم ہوتے جا رہے ہیں۔ جب صنعتی پہیہ سست ہو جائے تو مہنگائی میں اضافہ ہونا لازمی ہو جاتا ہے۔

دوسری جانب پٹرولیم مصنوعات کی قیمتوں میں اضافہ، بجلی کے بھاری بل، گیس اور دیگر توانائی اخراجات نے پیداواری لاگت میں بے پناہ اضافہ کر دیا ہے۔ ایسے میں صنعتکار کیسے کام کریں اور عام عوام بڑھتی مہنگائی کا بوجھ کیسے برداشت کریں؟

حکومت اور متعلقہ اداروں سے اپیل ہے کہ زمینی حقائق کو مدنظر رکھتے ہوئے ایسی پالیسیاں بنائی جائیں جو صنعت، تجارت اور عوام کو ریلیف فراہم کریں تاکہ معیشت دوبارہ اپنے پاؤں پر کھڑی ہو سکے۔

A productive and cordial introductory meeting was held at the Hattar Industrialists Association (HIA) with Sardar Abdul Rehman during his visit to the association.

The session provided an opportunity for meaningful discussion on labour-related matters and strengthening coordination between the Labour Department and the industrial community.

The meeting was attended by Qadir Mahmud, Patron in Chief HIA, Malik Muhammad Ashiq Awan Chairman HIA, Haji Muhammad Atta Ur Rehman Yousafzai SV Chairman HIA, Muhammad Ilyas Vice Chairman, along with other respected industrialists.

HIA leadership welcomed the Assistant Director Labour and expressed their commitment to working collaboratively to address labour issues, ensure compliance, and promote a conducive industrial environment.
