Minimum Eligibility Requirements
One of the basic requirements for this visa is that the applicant must score at least 60 points on the points test. You will receive five points if NSW agrees to nominate you. You will meet the points requirement if the total of your points score (points for your personal attributes plus the 5 points for State nomination) totals 60 points

Age : You must be less than 50 years of age at time of application to DIAC

English Language : Applicants must sit the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) and score at least a six (6) on each of the four bands (Writing, Speaking, Listening, Reading).

Occupation : In order to apply for NSW Nomination, your occupation must be listed on the NSW State Nominated Occupation List and is on the skilled occupation list of that particular region you are applying for.

The average processing time is 12 weeks from the date of application; you will be advised of the outcome of your application through a letter. If you migrated to Australia, have permanent residence, satisfy the residential requirements and are of good character you may be eligible for citizenship.
All applicants, including children under 16 years of age must be permanent residents at the time of application and also at the time we make a decision on your application.
