Chinese electric vehicle maker XPeng plans to sell flying cars by 2026. According to co-president Brian Gu in an interview with CNBC, customers can start preordering these flying cars by the end of 2024.

Gu stated that XPeng is confident in its flying car design, which is intended for rural areas rather than busy city centers. This focus should help with regulatory approval and may mean that drivers won't need a special license.

"We will work with municipalities to create flying parks and zones, making it easier for people to enjoy flying without complicated approvals," Gu told CNBC.

XPeng plans to release its flying car, the Land Aircraft Carrier, by the end of 2025. The Land Aircraft Carrier was first unveiled in February this year.

Toyota has intensified its endeavors to develop and produce Battery Electric Vehicles (BEVs) in order to compete with the EV-centric initiatives from brands such as Tesla and General Motors. In July, Toyota revealed its electric roadmap, which included a series of EVs boasting a cruising range of over 621 miles (1,000 kilometers).

In line with this initiative, the Japanese automaker has now unveiled the concept versions of the Toyota Land Cruiser Se and EPU Pickup EVs. The former represents a three-row electrified iteration of its renowned Land Cruiser. These models are set to be featured in the lineup at the upcoming Japan Mobility Show 2023, commencing on October 25.

A few years back, the company introduced the electric "Beyond Zero" (bZ) brand, with the bZ4X emerging as one of their most prominent BEVs by 2021. Progressing from its initial generation of EVs, the company anticipates that 1.7 million of the 3.5 million BEVs it plans to sell by 2030 will be next-generation vehicles.
